We were only supposed to stay here for one night but my husband became ill and needed open heart surgery! One night turned into 17. The reception staff were all wonderful to us and really supported us throughout. They were all so caring and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is a fantastic place to stay, for one... Booked this hotel for just one night on our way home from a weekend in Mexico. Wanted a reasonably priced hotel that was in walking distance to restaurants. The Westgate Hotel was that and then some! We were greeted with the very friendly Nicole who noted my online request for the tallest floor available within our price range. She upgraded... More

This property boasts large rooms, nice furnishings, great linens, nice mattresses, free bottled water, immaculately clean rooms , a lovely jazz bar off the lobby. It brought me back to the days of old, perhaps the early 1960s, with its decor and overall feel. And that can be a good thing. My only complaint and note to the management: please... More

As other reviews mention, The Westgate has a kind of glamour that makes you feel you're in Europe. The lobby is simply spectacular and in fact is a recreation of one of Versailles galleries with original antiquities. The rooms have the same "luxury" feeling, and even though a bit outdated, they are very refined and well kept. Finally the swimming... More

While it looks very fancy, I never felt uncomfortable being a "regular person". The staff is very friendly and they all seem genuine. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and clean. It's the first hotel I've stayed at in decades that didn't have a card-key. This was an electronically-encoded metal key. I don't know how to comment on the value... More

The 3 of us (husband, daughter aged 7 & I) spent 5 nights at The Westgate and it was lovely. Upon an early arrival at 1:30 pm, (check in is at 3pm) they had some rooms available and we checked immediately on the 16th floor. The room we asked for had 2 double beds, with a spacious bathroom area and... More

The Westgate is beautiful, great location, and wonderful service. The concierge (Shraddha) is a real jewel and went the extra mile to help make my first visit to SanDiego special. Shopping mall across the street (Nordstrom/Macy's) walking distance to great restaurants and entertainment. Loved the turn-down service every night.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Our room was spacious and clean. Large bathroom with double vanity and great water pressure for shower. Pool and hot tub on the 3rd floor were amazing, especially the hot tub. Every night they have turn down service and leave you chocolate, plus everyday they give you free bottled water ( depends on how... More

The Westgate hotel was very nice and decorated beautifully. The beds were extremely comfortable ad room was spacious. Personnel at front desk very pleasant. Bellmen very consciousious. The concierge (Shraddha) was very helpful with any questions that we had about restaurants or sightseeing. The rooms were spacious, though I would add that there needs to be furnuture specifically to put... More
