Stopped here for an awards ceremony. The valet was attentive and polite. The staff was extremely helpful. The stock of The Palace Bar was "top shelf". Looking forward to coming back to enjoy this wonderful establishment.

My husband and I stayed here in January while I attended a conference. The location of this hotel was perfect; a short walk to restaurants, the Seaport Village, and the convention center. A CVS and 7-eleven are less than two blocks from the hotel for snacks, beverages, and any forgotten toiletries. We had excellent service at the hotel from the... More

The hotel's location is fantastic--it's not too far from the waterfront and near plenty of bars and restaurants--but while the front of the hotel has plenty of charm, the rooms are substandard and dated. The first room we had smelled and was noisy (it faced the smoking/lounge area of the bar downstairs). We asked to move rooms and were able... More

The Horton Grand Hotel is located in the center of the historic Gaslamp District. There are so many wonderful and exotic restaurants within leisurely walking distance. A regular night life crowd invades the area and plenty of live entertainment is available. This hotel is easily accessible to and from I-5 and only valet parking is available at the hotel although... The Horton grand does not promise more than it delivers, it is rather old school, simple, yet perfectly located. Clean and furnished with period pieces, simply not your typical modern style hotel. The nicest part is it's history that you certainly feel -and it's perfect location in the gaslamp area. Nightly parking is pricey but the room value is commendable.... More

Stayed overnight for business on 4th floor (409). Wi-Fi was completely unusable in- room necessitating my sitting in the bar area of the hotel in order to complete my reports. I was erroneously charged someone else's bar and food tab of $57.70 which I was fortunate enough to question and have corrected before leaving. Valet parking charge was $38.00 for... More

The garden atrium was decorated for a wedding when I arrived and it set the stage for what would be a memorable visit. The hotel was full on my first night and my first room was good but I was looking for a little more light and space and they were able to accommodate me for my next three nights.ALL... More

I had heard stories about ghosts at this hotel but I am glad to say I did not see any. This is an older hotel with rich looking wood, an impressive lobby and a very nice bar. I was there for business but stayed a few extra days. The staff was very friendly and the concierge(s) were great with information... More

This hotel is in a great location in the gas lamp district and has an awesome historic feel. The courtyard was beautiful and fun to sit in and enjoy a late-night snack. I spent one night in this hotel and enjoyed my stay, but good to note that it is an older building - as to be expected with a... More

The Horton Grand Hotel is an older building in downtown San Diego remodeled into a classic “boutique hotel” which keeps the theme of its time. The term “Grand” is a bit of a misnomer for this type of hotel, but it is still a nice, three, not four star property. The hotel is on a side-street somewhat away from the... More
