We duly arrived at the Horton Grand late in the afternoon. We were welcomed by the valet parking attendant who duly emptied our car of all our luggage and packages. Onwards to reception and again were given a warm welcome. Check in was quick and painless and we were taken to our room with our luggage arriving soon after. The... More

I met friends who were staying at the Horton Grand (2 couples) in the peaceful and comfortable atrium to have drinks and chat. Although I didn't see their rooms, they all loved the hotel. Next time I look for a hotel in San Diego it will certainly book the Horton Gand. It's located in a popular part of the city... More

I have wanted to stay at this hotel for quite some time and I finally had my chance. We stayed in a Grand Hotel and it was a great experience. We will most defiantly stay here again and can't wait to come back. They have a wonderful restaurant and bar inside the hotel. Check them out.

The Grand Horton is a nice old fashioned boutique style hotel. When visiting San Diego, the gaslamp district is the place you want to be. You are smack in the middle of the best restaurants and nightlife. Our room had nice small balcony and rustic old-fashioned toilet. I felt the rug left a little to be desired. You can valet... More

Stayed here for the first time just to try something different in San Diego. Take a cab from the airport as it's a short ride. Checking in was strange; the desk clerk seemed quite nervous. There was a band playing in the alley behind the hotel which was pretty loud and I had noticed other reviews that mentioned this issue.... More

Very pleased with the hotel. Hotel staff was very friendly. We chose to stay in the Haunted room but ghost "Roger" decided to stay quiet so we didn't see him. Hotel was nice and clean, beds were comfy. Wyatt Earp even stayed there! We used the Valet parking which was very convenient. Restaurants were everywhere in walking distance. One drawback... More

Wanted to be in the centre of SD for our 3 night stay and this hotel certainly fitted the bill, right in the heart of the city whilst at the same time it felt select and personal. Stayed in a fireplace courtyard room which was very nice, spacious and well appointed, good views over the city skyline. Drank in the... More

This is the second time I stayed at the Horton Grand Hotel. I tried to stay a third time the following week for a conference but they were booked up and I had to stay at the Hilton Bayfront. I much prefer the Horton Grand. It is important to understand a few things. This is a historic hotel and you... More

What a lovely place! We had only one night, but it won’t be our last, I’m sure. The Horton Grand claims to be “a historic retreat [with] style, class, and charm,” and it delivers beautifully. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard, which serves as the al fresco dining area for the hotel's restaurant. The room was very nice: antiques, good comfy... More

The Horton Grand Hotel is right in the center of the exciting Gaslamp district, not to mention a short walk away from many tourist sites in San Diego. The hotel itself has a quiet but friendly vibe. The rooms are a tiny bit small and outdated (the hotel is very old!) but that is part of its charm; more importantly... More
