This place was great! Beautiful sights and Beautiful interior. The one down fall was that there isn't a fridge in the the room. When we went out to dinner, we had no where to store our leftovers. The room is takes you back in time with the old chain toilets and beautiful fireplace, which was cleaned daily. Great place for... More

The location of this hotel is really great, in the middle of downtown (Gaslamp District). The sightseeing bus stops just in front of the hotel. The arhitecture of this hotel is amazing, The parking is very expensive 30$/ night but you pay the price to stay in downtown. The rooms are big and very high, with fire place which is... More

An excellent value and beautiful hotel. Please understand that this is an older hotel and that is what makes it a wonderful experience to stay in. The rooms are quite comfortable and updated very nicely. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is second to none if you are looking to enjoy downtown San Diego and the Gas Lamp.... More

We were in San Diego for a convention at the neighboring Hyatt. The Horton is in a great location in the Gaslamp District and in walking distance of the Hyatt where I had my meeting. It is also in a good location if you want to walk through the Gaslamp district and on the water front. We love to walk... More

What a pleasant surprise the Horton is! Actually two large hotels joined together with fabulous architectural details. Perfect location in the Gaslamp District. Service was excellent. Bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever had in a hotel. Room was large and clean. The restaurant is excellent and the small bar is well serviced and very attractive. Valet parking... More

I stayed in room 229 for 5 nights and experienced one of the worst hotel stays - The most terrible experience came with BED BUGS! BED BUGS I found the outer layer linen was filthy on my arrival and it was never replaced. Finally, when I woke up on the last day morning I noticed 10 rashes on my wrist... More

On behalf of the entire hotel, we sincerely apologize that you feel this way. I will reassure you however, as mentioned before, a professional inspection was done on this room by not only our Executive Housekeeping team but an outside company as well. No evidence was found of any pest infestation, which was certainly a relief. We appreciate you bringing... More

In the heart of gaslamp, a European style hotel. It is over 100 years old but rooms are nicely done. Location cant be beat for convention center seaport village and gaslamp. The front desk and concierge were helpful with suggestions and reservations. I cant understand negative comments unless those people were expecting a Hilton or Marriott. Restaurant and bar staff... If you are looking for a Central Location in Gas Lamp District, not on a busy street, and want a Huge Room, This is the place. Don't expect modern design. This is an historic hotel with some modern amenities. Loved that I had both a interior window balcony that looked over the interior courtyard, AND a window to the street.... More

Wow! If you appreciate historical buildings and furniture, you will love this charming hotel which captures San Diego during the late 1800s. Comfortable beds, great food, and polite staff. I stayed here during a conference, but would love to come back for a romantic weekend. Step out the door and you have the Gas Lamp nightlife at your feet.
