We stayed at the Doubletree San Diego Downtown for one night before heading out to another location for the rest of our trip. We arrived around 10:30pm. The parking garage is small, but otherwise acceptable and connected directly to the hotel. Since it was late we did not look for street parking and just paid the $20 for the night.... more

My boyfriend and I chose to stay at the Doubletree mainly because it was close to the airport and only $100/night. The complimentary shuttle picked us up from the airport and we were checked in fairly quickly amongst several flight attendants. The front desk was very professional and polite. The room we were given was on the 19th floor facing... more

Situated very close to airport and Little Italy district. A short drive to Gaslamp area. Room was clean and spacious, reasonably well furnished. Bed was comfortable, but not as nice as some other hotel chains I have stated at. Breakfast buffet at $13 was good, though not exceptional. Parking is $20/day, which is fairly typical of downtown. My room was... more

We spent 5 days at The Doubletree at the end of February and found it to be great. It's more like a small European Boutique hotel than part of a big chain. Our room on the 8th floor was clean and well appointed. We loved the location in Little Italy. You can walk to many great restaurants and shops. The... more

Stayed here during the second week of February for a 5 day conference. Called the hotel upon arriving at the airport and waited about 15 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Rooms are average with older furnishings. The water in the bathroom did not get really hot and would water hammer while taking a shower. I am sure the neighboring... more

If you can get it for a decent price, this is a good pick if you are looking for something in the Downtown San Diego area. It is next to the litte Italy area and relatively close to the Harbour and Gaslamp Quarter. The rooms are standard hotel rooms, were clean and seemed to be relatively well maintained. That said,... more

Read other reviews and was not sure about this hotel. I did learn from the reviews to request a south facing room. They accommodated me nicely. We were on the 18th floor with a great view of the lights in the city. All the hotels in downtown San Diego are a few blocks from the airport so expect some noise... more

I travel quite a bit on business and this is one of the hotels in the San Diego area I frequently try to stay in. It is very comfortable, clean and the staff have always been friendly. You even get a free cookie when you check in! Because I travel on business hotel prices do not affect me. But something... more

I'm currently staying at the Doubletree hotel in Downtown San Diego. This is my first stay in San Diego. I did some research, read some alarming reviews about the noises, still, I decided to book here because of the location. First of all, the CSR that I called to book the hotel had some attitude problem when I made a... more

I had a recent weekend stay, after getting this property on Priceline. The asking price (rack rate) was $209, which seems excessive to me given the location and facilities of this hotel. The Priceline rate was considerably less and made for a good value stay. So, if you can get a discount, this would be a good place to stay.... more
