Second stay in the Park Manor Suites just as enjoyable as the first. Although not as modern and trendy as some hotels, the staff are great and the bar is fun too. Very gay friendly with largish rooms and in a very nice location near the park. If it had a pool and a garden it would be just perfect... more

In contradiction to the prior review, there was no smell of gas in the hotel (I have a keen sense). The hotel is very much in the European style; yes, the bathroom is small, but there is a lovely courtyard, a nice foyer, and the room was very comfortable and large. The wireless is free. The service excellent. There is... more

This hotel is old and dated. The furnishings are very old andthe whole hotel needs refurbishing. There are gas stoves in the rooms and the first room we went into smelt strongly of gas. They moved us to another room and that wasn't so bad. The hotel did admit they have an ongoing problem with the smell of gas throughout... more

Overall a basic place to stay, a renovated hotel from back in the day. Limited parking spaces and SMALL bath. Best for those making an extended stay where a 3/4 kitchen is needed. For those on a weekend trip or only in town for a few days, look elsewhere. Location is close Balboa Park but not where shuttle bus runs.... more

The best thing about the hotel was the enourmous size of the rooms. There was a walk in closet, large living room, full kitchen with dining table, ironing/dressing area with 2nd closet, and a seperate bedroom. Our family of 4 had pleanty of room to open up our bags. Location was good to Balboa Park. The only negatives are the... more

We had an excellent visit at Park Manor Suites and can echo many of the positive comments made earlier. The location was perfect for us, easy for our friends to find us and a short walk to the busy area of Hillcrest along University Avenue where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The park across the street from... more

I stayed at the Park Manor Suites for nine nights in late December and early January. I booked a 2 Queen suite for two adults and two teens. My parents, brother, sister and her family also stayed there in separate rooms. I picked this place because of location, large room size, and the full kitchen. These were all big pluses.... more

i disagree with the reviews and online info that this a great place for seniors to stay. Balboa park is across the street from the hotel but not where the zoo or museums are at. a tour guide said this is a place for locals to picnic or walk their dogs. the trolley(a free trolley around balboa park) is not... more

With a short ride from the airport, a central location that's close to several great areas of the city and a spectacular staff - this was the perfect place for me to spend my birthday weekend. The front desk staff were full of good recommendations for events, how to get around and where to eat. I even got a great... more

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights during our Anniversary Week celebration in Southern California. You can read all about the building and the carpet in other peoples' reviews. I want to stress how wonderful the staff were. Always cheerful and helpful. Joe, who works the evening shift at the front desk, stands out as especially generous. He... more
