We just returned from San Diego after staying for 4 days at the Inn at the Park (formerly Park Avenue Suites). I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews, but after stepping through the door of our King Bed Suite, Room 608, I was entranced. The room had not been remodeled yet, and I was so very glad to stay... More

We enjoyed our stay at Inn at the Park. The location was great. We had a rental car, but fount the Tram, which stopped 2 (short) blocks away, was better they dealing with the car. The tram took us to all the museums in Balboa Park. We used the Tram several times during the trip. The staff at the hotel... More

-Best thing in the hotel is that it takes you back to a feeling of early 19th century -Big minus is that wireless in the room was not working for most parts in the rooms - even though they adverticed that as a complimentary. One needed to go to a lobby many times to use the internet -Good location for... More

I have stayed at "The Inn" (fka "Park Manor Hotel") over 25 times since the mid '90s. So I was a little worried when I heard this beloved property was recently taken over by a company better known for time shares. The ongoing renovation of rooms in the western part of the hotel did not affect my stay (although I... More

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for your feedback. It is wonderful to hear from our valued repeat guests and appreciate your continued patronage. The Inn at the Park was purchased by Shell Vacations in May 2011 and we are very pleased and excited that we are in Phase 1 of a renovation of... More

My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights 1/12-1/16/12. The rooms are clean and the beds are very nice with great sheets. Pillows are just okay as they have 4 maybe 24" x 24" squares which make it hard to hug the pillow if you sleep that way. The continental breakfast was a little disappointing as there was nothing... We stayed here for 12 nights over Xmas and New Year and we loved this hotel. By far the greatest asset are the staff. From the moment Kathlyn checked us in with the brightest, cheeriest smile I knew we were going to enjoy our stay. Don't let the reviews about it being dated put you off, we're from England and... Although the style and decor is very dated, our room was clean & comfortable. The staff were friendly, and the free breakfast consisted of a wide range of choices. I did notice that the room didn't seem to have A/C. It was cool out the day we were in San Diego, but I don't think I would be comfortable staying... More

I stayed here the day after Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it. The rooms are like small apartments and I am sure at one time they may have been. Our room faced the street across from the Balboa Park and its great to get up in the morning and take a walk. On Friday night there was a fun event at... More

I had to be in San Diego for business for a while and wanted something different. Some one who had worked at the theater in town recommended this hotel. They were so right in doing so I could kiss 'em. Having lived all over the country, in various pre-war apartments and condos, this is perfect for me. Give me hardwoods... More

I had booked the Studio queen room with a kitchette for 6 nights, on arrival at the hotel I was given the dreaded room 110, the room itself is ok, but there was no kitchenette, only a microwave and fridge in this make shift cupboard. The room was on the ground floor and the windows didn't shut properly and we... More
