We were here for a conference and got a great conference rate for 7 nights. We stayed on the 5th floor of the North tower. The standard rooms are cramped for 2 adults and 2 kids. The sink and bathroom are separate which is a plus for us. The bathroom has a toilet and tub/shower combo and little else. The... more

As mentioned, this hotel has a great location. Unfortunately there wasn't any time of day when the elevators didn't have a line. If you had a room on the top floors, you could occasionally catch an elevator on the way down (stopping at each floor to pick up more people) but the poor people who had rooms on the 6th,... more

I got a really great rate on this hotel and I live in California, however, I think I would be disappointed if I thought I was coming for the Southern California beach experience and landed here. This hotel is located in San Diego Bay on the harbor so there is no beach. The closest beach is on Coronado Island which... more

We just returned from a stay at the Marriott Marina. Hotel is in the perfect location. Easy walking distance to Petco Park, Gaslamp, USS Midway, shopping, and restaurants. Hotel has a great pool and the staff was always friendly. My kids ordered room service and loved the food...not too overpriced. My one and only complaint is the elevators...we were in... more

I'm not sure if the elevators were broken or what, but they were painfully slow. My average wait time was 3-5 minutes which is annoying, but at one point, I waited nearly 10 minutes which is just unacceptable. Lines were also long to get onto the elevator as soon as the convention was over, but that was somewhat expected since... more

then this is the place for you. We stayed for 4 nights and every time that we left the room, we heard people's elevator horror stories. We stayed on the 9th floor and had to climb stairs with a 3 year old or wait an average of 15 mins for an elevator. Some friends of ours were trapped in one... more

Wow what a great hotel in a great location with great views. We stayed at this Marriott using points and the hotel staff treated us as if we were paying full rack rates. The maid checked with us to be sure our room was perfect. The front desk took care of all our needs and answered all our questions. The... more

Thought the hotel was great, concierge lounge is excellent when open, stayed on points and upgraded to a nice bay view room. Found Roys restaurant mediocre and expensive but the pub was excellent food and superb value. Bellboys are real stars and great location if you need to be in SD. more

I was very unimpressed with the quality of the room. The closet had cheap plastic doors. In the morning when I went to take a shower, I looked for a bathrobe. It was impossible to get through on the phone to anyone in housekeeping, the concierge or the front desk; the line was constantly busy. After calling the operator, she... more

There were two towers with sleeping rooms - stayed in the South tower. The room was run down with well-worn amenities. For $250+ per night, I would have stayed at a much more up-to-date hotel. The location was great but this benefit was overshadowed by the overpriced, Super8-type room. Also, the uninspiring buffet breakfast cost a hefty $20/person (before taxes/tip). more
