We checked in and the sign said the pool was closed due to emergency maintenance, not what we wanted to see, but since the room was paid for already (booked via Expedia), we stayed. We then had continual problems connecting to the internet and for a family of 4 with 2 laptops, 4 cell phones, 4 I-pods, etc, there were... more

The rooms were dark. They smelled stale. The bathroom was cramped. The beds were hard like plywood. The back windows looked upon a homeless camp. My wife's ring was stolen by cleaning staff. The hotel made no apologies and no attempt to rectify the issue. I would not stay here again. I would not recommend it to a friend .... more

Architecturally unimpressive, about as Old English as Round Table Pizza, classic 1972 motor lodge architecture, from the street you won't think much. Don't be fooled. It's not luxurious, it's not a resort with lush grounds and it's obviously an old property but it's cleaner and better-maintained than a lot of places twice as costly, the beds are comfy, everything works,... more

This place was a good deal and my husband and I were just looking for a clean place to sleep while in San Diego. It was perfect for that, but the TV was a little fuzzy and the room was really old school! It looked like it was from the 50s but it was clean and worked great for us.... more

We enjoyed this hotel. It was clean and well maintained. Even the hand towels were folded into an elegant fan shape. We could not hear any noise coming through the walls to the adjoining rooms, which was nice. Couldn't hear any street noise either. The beds were comfortable. We purchased a special which included breakfast, but as it turned out... more

I have stayed at the King's Inn several times and I can tell you that for a hotel in this price range you won't find a better location or such a focus on service. When we checked in I was offered a free goodie bag with a variety of soaps and other travel related items. Richard at the front desk... more

This hotel is not for the 5-star traveler, but you probably wouldn't expect that. My travel companion booked this hotel well advised. The security on the property turned out to be very good, even calling us late at night when I left the light in my car on. So I was impressed with that angle, especially considering the proximity to... more

I have stayed at the Kings Inn many times on business and pleasure trips to San Diego. These are the facts, friend. Excellent pricing. Great location Large rooms with great beds. Large pool with a resort feel. 2 good restuarants on site. The kind of personal service you hope to find in a 5 star hotel. Ricco and Macarena are... more

We paid $45/night through Priceline for a three night stay; would not have wanted to pay more. However, this is cheap for a hotel in San Diego. We found the room was clean, newly painted, average motel type bedding, wireless ok. Pool area is adequate--better then some motels I have stayed in. If you get a good rate, just want... more

Got dumped in here after a cancelled flight with United! Have stayed in San Diego quite a lot..........but DON'T go here!!!The rooms were dark and smelly, it didn't seem safe after dark, and it's too close to the Freeway. Spend a bit more, and get a good night's sleep somewhere else!! more
