Service was excellent and friendly. We arrived outside their shuttle-hours and after 1 phonecall shuttle came to pick us from Airport. Also i was waiting a letter to the hotel, which arrived 2 weeks late (i was allready in Europe) - hotel staff forwarded letter to me and answered all queries fast with excellent service. Room rates where good value... more
So I read through the reviews, and have to say I was quite pleased with the hotel. We came to San Diego to enjoy the Zoo, downtown area and Hillcrest. Our intentions were not to stay in a hotel, locked up in a room or a lobby! So to those of you who have written that their lobby is small....I... more
This hotel is a bit far from the typical Convention type activities in downtown SD. However, I like to walk and ended out walking the 15-20 minute trek down to the Convention Center several times. For the average person, this would not be a practical walk. And honestly, at nite, I did not feel 100% safe walking back. Pros: *Staff... more
This hotel was close to all the major attractions. It was convenient to airport but not close enough to hear the planes. The rooms looked like some of the really expensive hotels I have stayed in before. I had and excellent view of the water from my room. The dinning within walking distance was exceptional. We also liked how accommodating... more
Nice place, and the walk to the Gaslamp Quarter wasn't bad at all. The room was very clean and may have been newly renovated, the smell in the room reminded me of a new RV at a camping expo. Nice view, clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Room service was available but I never did figure out if there was an... more
Good location, the hotel is situated Downtown San Diego and is a great place to visit the majority of San Diego's touristic attractions. The rooms are quite spacious and clean, the bathroom comfortable and cozy. The only problem is that is just next to the freeway and also to the airport so if you are sensible with noise make sure... more
I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Downtown last weekend, and here are my reviews Pro - Renovated rooms (it is clear that rooms are renovated, as the bathrooms are very modern, beds are comfortable, and even plasma TV!) - Lots of towels in bathroom - Very modern looking bathroom - Good service - Clean decor - Cheap rates... more
We, like most others, got a great deal on priceline for this hotel and it was totally worth the money. The hotel is in downtown san diego, but a bit far from the gaslamp quarter and the actual "downtown" area most people talk about. Either way, little italy is VERY close and the walk to gaslamp only took about 20... more
Thank you for your kind comments about the Holiday Inn San Diego Downtown! I am glad that you enjoyed the outcome of our newly renovated rooms! The HDTV is a great feature and enjoyed by many of our guests. We are working, now, to enhance our restaurant so that it has a different feel. Currently the "Grab n Go" is...
My husband and I stayed here for one night and were pleasantly surprised. We had secured the room through Priceline at a very discounted rate, and based on certain reviews were a bit cautious as to what we would find. We arrived late in the evening after a very long flight, and the staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly... more
