Stayed a couple of nights and it was all about the location. The nightly rate was a bonus! This hotel is right on the boardwalk and conveniently located amongst lots of shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a bargain on the beach I'd recommend you check it out.

Great bang for your buck. Nothing fancy but on the beach and in a safe neighborhood. If you are looking for something clean and close to the beach this is it. The continental breakfast is a few muffins and coffee but we had a kitchenette so we fixed our own. We will go again

Location is amazing! Just steps from the beach and so close to a variety of cafes, restaurants and bars. The 30 bus also stops just two blocks away that you can take all the way Downtown. Like many reviewers say this place is simple and nothing fancy. Our room was clean, comfortable and had great storage space too. The staff... More

The room was clean and less than a minute walk from the beach. Not impressed with the recent reno. But if you are not looking for luxury and not planning on spending much time in the room this place is just fine. Not sure that I would stay here again though. Wifi isn't free!

I stumbled on this property by accident and now it is my go to property in Pacific Beach. I actually was referred to them by their sister property which was sold out. I am giving them an excellent for three reasons: 1 - Value - Tell me where you can get a clean hotel room on the beach for around... More

Pros: Excellent location, friendly staff, microwave, fridge. Grounds were clean. You can walk to the strand/beach. Some rooms are ocean view. Reasonable rates. Cons: -Bed linens seemed old/outdated; they're still using thick old-style hotel bed spreads (who knows if they're washed or not on a regular basis) ..... , -Nice kitchen stove top, microwave, fridge but no kitchen sink or... Hotel is 21 rooms of a perfect location! Pacific Beach and the ocean are so close that at night you actually can hear the waves rushing up to the shore. Never moved the car as everything was within walking distance including the beach and the views from the boardwalk are spectacular. Hotel could use some updating and there are exactly... More

It is not the Ritz, but we had a great stay. Parked the car and hardly had to move it. Everything in walking distance. Only a block from the beach! The room was clean and big. The sun sets were great. Recommend it for an inexpensive trip to San Diego on the beach!

The Diamond Head Inn is not fancy but it is comfortable. Located walking distance to the beach and it's true, you don't have to cross a street to get there. You do have to drag all your beach stuff down wooden stairs (and then back up again), but otherwise it's a convenient beach location. For this stay, I found the... More

Thank you for your comments, and especially for staying with us. The location is absolutely perfect! As there are no bad days at the beach. The parking, if you do what you said by staying in a parking space and not moving is a strategy many guests do use. But, if you plan to go away for the day, it's... More

I think i got it all in the subject there. We had to park roughly .4 mile away in their sister hotel which is a good hotel (the pacific shores inn), but that is close to a 10 min walk. Fine. The location is great it is on the beach. But since it's a good location and so cheap you... More

Thank you for your review. The office is open until 11:00 in the evening, but we do have someone available 24 hours a day at the Pacific Shores Inn that can take care of any issue you may have. We do apologize for any issue you had while staying with us. There are some nights that are extremely busy, and... More
