I really love this property. I like it's sort of funky 50's architecture yet I could tell that it's been totally redone. I travel a lot for work and have stayed almost everywhere in San Diego. This is really good value for the money I can tell you. No, it's not the W or the Westgate, or any number of... more

Stayed for two nights on weekdays. Location is good, central to most everything downtown/Gaslamp and harbor,, as well as to the I-5 freeway and airport. Finding the place can be a bit difficult, especially with all of th eone way streets. Upon arrival, you park temporarily in a driveway area to check-in, them procees to make three left turns out... more

Myself & my husband stayed here for 4 nights beginning on July 4th. The location of the hotel is good, sort of in the middle of everything. We did rent a car and therefore used the parking garage, which is actually located on 6th, not 7th. We were informed that the charge for parking would be $14 per day (and... more

First visit to San Dieo and wanted a hotel central to everything. Location worked perfect for our visit. It was about 6-10 blocks from the Gaslamp District. Not too bad of a walk at night. Very close to hwy. 5. Not far from the trolley. Hotel was well kept. Room was clean. Bathroom and room a little small, but not... more

I was umming and ahhing for a long time about which hotel to stay in during our thanksgiving visit to San Diego. I eventually went with the Holiday Inn Express because of its proximity to friends and its value for money. I wasn't too sure about what to expect from the actual hotel. When we arrived, the hotel is only... more

The employees at the front desk were kind, bent over backwards to help me, and were knowledgable about the city and transportation around San Diego. They really helped make my trip most enjoyable. The hotel was clean and my room was always made up whenever I returned at the end of the day. I would highly recommend this hotel. more

This hotel is very good value for the location compared to other hotels in the area. It is a short walking distance to the Gas Lamp, and also the trolley system which will take you to Qualcomm Stadium or Tiajuana. It is also in close proximity to the freeway although it doesn't suffer from noise from this. The only drawback... more

The outside picture was done by a FN artist. This is an O L D property yet they make it look like a palace. But the rooms seem to have been updated recently, like late 90s. One unexpected plus was a small fridge in the room. I just checked out of this hotel this morning. I had booked two days... more

During a stay for my extended family due to a death in the family the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It's great in all other respects (location, cleanliness, dining) as well. more

I got a very good price on Hotwire. About 1/2 the published rate and I think If I would have paid full price I would have been a little more upset, but at 66.00 a night I feel that I can't complain too much. First off, the parking garage is awful. You can tell by all the skid marks on... more
