Lets start with the good. This hotel is newly renovated. Nice lobby, friendly and helpful staff. The room itself is spacious. Plenty of room to move around. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Our room had a nice balcony view of the pool, and we could see the ocean between some buildings. The room was clean. Breakfast was good, consistently... more

We stayed for two days (wish it had been longer) and had a lovely stay. The staff was welcoming and funny. The location is excellent for walking around the Gas Lamp area. The rooms were great, quite a good size, although the bathroom was tiny! Comfortable beds. What more can one ask for? That is besides the cookies in the... more

Holiday Inn Express had great service, clean rooms and comfortable bed. We've stayed there before. This time one of the elevators broke, but not much hassle to that. The breakfast needs more fruit. The in-room internet worked about 10 minutes then shut down. It became so annoying I went to the lobby and did the work there. Again, the behind... more

This was a really nice hotel. We had a group of people, we saw many of the hotel rooms. They were all nice. The breakfast was not bad...lost of selection. Parking was $16 a day but worth itb/c you need a car to see all the sites!!! There is still a pool, we never had time to use it but... more

Superb location, just 10 minutes walk from the Gaslamp district and relatively easy to find reasonably priced parking in the nearby streets. Room was well furnished and free internet access (and printing of a few pages) was available in the lobby. One member of staff seemed a little too keen to sell tickets for a tour but aside from that... more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Xpress in downtown San Diego for my nephew's wedding. There were over 30 people at the hotel just from my Extended Family and my Mother was in a wheelchair. From the morning breakfast to the cookies at night, we all enjoyed our stay. The free shuttle service took us all over San Diego and... more

For $99 a night, this hotel was excellent. It is very well located. It is about 10 minutes walk to gaslamp and about the same time to he harbour. Very nice staff, free internet access, break fast provided and complimentary wine in the evening. The only thing we didn't like about the hotel is the parking charge. It is $14... more

For my purposes, this hotel couldn't be located any better. I needed to use route 163 north to San Marcos, and I wanted to be near the I-5 to Pendleton. The Holiday Inn Express is about two blocks from both freeways. But, it's too far from Harbor Boulevard entertainment and restaurants to walk--you can drive there in five minutes. I... more

I was very surprised by this hotel. I have stayed in other hotels in San Diego and this will be my new choice. The free breakfast was more than a continental, it had eggs, bacon, sausage and the other expected items. The location was good and the staff was very friendly. The only negative I found was the parking was... more
