What a lovely, retro hotel just minutes from my client. I'm so glad the boring corporate hotel was booked so that I could find The Pearl! The staff is wonderful, the property is gorgeous, and dinner was amazing. The room was small but comfortable, and I loved my bunkmate, Scooter, a Beta fish in a bowl on the wall. I... More

After doing my research to find a place to stay while in San Diego, I chose The Pearl. Super close to the airport, the cab was a very short ride. What a cute place with all kinds of fun. It may be small, but they make the most of their space. We did some of the activities that were offered... More

Amazing hotel, great bar, good food, lovely people. A bit out of the way (if you don't have a car) but don't let this put you off - lots of nice places around (Reds! Harbour Pub (amazing)). And if you are British and therefore not scared of public transport its a quick 28 bus to the train...

For having a decent-looking website and pictures I expected a lot more. It's a tiny, rundown building in a shady-looking part of the city. The parking is sketchy, and the wifi is spotty at best. But what bugged me most was that I had booked their "Strand" room (their biggest room) but got a tiny little room they claimed was... More

I could still see the previous shabby facade amongst the updated interior. Noisy pool, tiny thin towels and the worst was the rug at the entry just inside my door. For some very strange reason, it was SATURATED with cat pee so I chucked it outside. When leaving later that evening I complained at the front desk and they didn't... More

What a lovely boutique hotel...we were here for a wedding ceremony and stayed 3 nights. the staff are generally kind, though a tad informal in addressing issues at times, the hotel is very close to the airport (though not loud that way - the problem with noise came mainly from the busy road the hotel overlooks) and in Point Loma... Having visited San Diego before and not necessarily enjoying the Gas Lamp District (with it's chain restaurants and conference going visitors), I was excited to discover the hip Pearl Hotel in Point Lomo. When you tally up it's affordable price, friendly customer service, inviting bar and pool area, and overall design, it's clear you have an excellent choice when staying... More

Stayed in this hotel for one night on a visit to California from the UK. Absolutely loved it! It has a really cool retro vibe going on - exactly what I would imagine of a happening 1960s California hotel/motel (except with free wifi!). Plan to stay longer than you'd expect - you'll no doubt want to spend at least a... More

I came here with my boyfriend just for a one night stay to visit San Diego while he was visiting from England. We got to stay in the Bruce Lee room, which was decked out with an awesome lounge area, and it was awesome! I loved the retro feel of the hotel and the room. Excellent cocktails and appetizers at... I have to give this place all the credit in the world. It's not on the beach. It's on a busy street. The neighborhood isn't anything to brag about. However, they make the most of what they have. The people and service was great. The rooms were cool and clean. Wifi super. Pool was awesome. Great bar. Good coffee in... More
