First review I have ever posted of anything online. This room is comparable to a prison cell. White walls soo little character...-a half wall portrait thing trying waaay too hard. Over priced! Bed is covered in plastic..sounds like ur sleeping on a diaper. No bttled water. They will not even bring one to the room if you ask. Long story... More

I hated this hotel. I would stay three days with my family, but I stayed there only one day. The room was very bad. Despite being on the second floor, there was a door with exit to the street ... exactly for the sidewalk. Does anyone imagine that? This door was of glass and had only a thin curtain, without... We had initially booked three nights but extended our visit to four due to a)our enjoyment in the city and b)the quality of our stay. The hotel is well situated in Little Italy (one block from India St and lots of good Italian restaurants, cafes and stores) and safe walks to the Gaslamp District and maritime area (USS Midway/ferries, etc).... Valet parking is mandatory, and adds $22/night to your room cost. Our air conditioner wasn't working properly, which caused our room to have the climate of a rainforest, and our toilet didn't flush. When I told the gentleman at front desk that neither our air conditioner nor toilet worked, his reply was "No problem. Have a good day sir"

The hotel is in a great location at the center of Little Italy, where numerous shops and restaurants are all in walking distance. The Top of the Bay on the roof top of the hotel has a fantastic happy hours every Friday with friendly staffs and their services. You will enjoy the best view of San Diego harbor, Coronado Island,... This is the 2nd time we stayed here, first time was really good, this time just so so. The room we had was nice BUT the bathroom area is separated by a sliding plastic door, the light came in from the window so there was no way to make the room darker once the sun was up. The door also... More

Stayed at the PV during Comic-con, which turned out to be great because you can leave the crowd behind but still be close to the action. Jaye, a server at the Glass Door, is the epitome of customer service--she got us set up with breakfast and drink vouchers that had been forgotten at check-in. Rooms are large and staff accommodating!

First, we travel quite a bit and usually stay at 5 star hotels. So when we were coming to San Diego for the Comic Con convention we were looking for a nice hotel that was in the proximity of the convention. We stumbled on Porto Vista and what a great little boutique hotel! It was clean, near the convention, and... More

The 4th floor bar has a great view, and the manager, Charles, offers great service and makes the stay 100% worth while. I had such a great time with my friends, and Charles really took such great care of us. I will definitely come back and visit Charles when he is working. He made the stay here completely worth while.

We chose the Porto Vista Hotel because of it's location in Little Italy and near Harbor and Airport. We really loved having drinks on the rooftop bar and enjoying the view. The Glass Door has an excellent menu with every drink you could possibly dream of all while enjoying a fantastic view. The staff was nice and accomodating and we... More
