The Sofia Hotel was recently renovated, and is comfortable in every aspect. The single Queen room was large enough for two to stay comfortably. The shower was great - though the European style shower door allows water to escape onto the floor. The room was quiet and temperature control worked well. The television remote control was slow to respond, and... More

We arrived after a loooong drive and were pleasantly surprised that the staff let us check in very early. I mean HOURS early. Very nice, understanding and accomodating. They got us into our beds quickly but, made sure we knew that we were welcome to come down and ask questions about San Diego, tours, eats etc... Thank goodness, we were... More

We spent six nights. Hotel was nicely appointed and convienient to everything. The queen bed and room was big enough for us. The shower was fine, moving the shower head inward prevented water getting everywhere and the plush bathmat was absorbent so we didn't have water problems as stated by other reviews. Clean room, comfortable bed, nice bedding, towels and... More

This is a great hotel, they have Valet parking for $28 a day totally worth every penny. The city is so easy to drive around in. Traffic never got bad. The hotel is a historic building and has so much charm. The staff were terrific. I will go back. They have a spa in the hotel and it is close... More

Spent three days at this hotel and loved every aspect. Rooms were modern and very clean. Friendly staff were always willing to help out with a smile. Walking distance to everything (Petco Park, Shopping Mall, Gaslight District, Seaport Village, Amtrak and the Metro). For the price we paid, it was well worth it.

I have been going to San Diego EVERY week for the last 3 months. Each week I have tried a different hotel and my girlfriend suggested we try this one for last weekend. This is a European boutique hotel. The rooms are small, yet ingeniously designed to make it feel just right. The service is stellar. The restaurant downstairs has... More

We stayed here for one night to see a play at the Civic Auditorium. The hotel is walking distance from the theater and the main restaurant area. The room was small but very efficient and comfortable. We had a corner room. We ate breakfast at the restaurant downstairs, the food was good and the prices reasonable. Parking is valet only,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of July. The hotel & rooms are very modern & clean. Room was very small but we weren’t staying in it much so didn’t matter. The hotel is in a great location very near to the harbour (nice fish restaurants, bars), Gaslamp Area & Horton Plaza (shopping centre). The area seems... More
