Although it is true that The Keating is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in, the form and flair was grossly overshadowed by the shoddy service that I received. My husband and I are not in denial that we are 'hotel snobs', so The Keating seemed like a natural choice for our weekend trip to San... more

I went to the Keating in early August. First impression, was WOW what a cool hotel. Gadgets galore very swanky! The room smelt musty as the shower was open concept. (it was right in front of the bed). A great place for voyeurs but not two buddys traveling together. The hotel is in a great location right in the heart... more

The Keating Hotel is loud! While the minimalist design is breathtaking, and its hi tech in-room gadgets are wonderful, nothing is worth the noise that you will encounter when you chose to stay at this hotel. The hotel upgraded us to the Imperial room, which was large and beautiful, with its high ceilings, large windows and plasma TV's. The room... more

We just stayed at The Keating on a Saturday night. First impressions were wow, what a fab room, we were upgraded to a Suite which was modern Italian in design, open plan. Very comfortable bed indeed, nice high ceilings and lots of gadgets. I felt after being there a while that so much emphasis was put on the high tech... more

The weird design is pointless because there is a rock club directly below the hotel and it is STUPID LOUD. I couldn't even attempt to sleep until they stopped after midnight. I mean, it was like trying to sleep in a rock club bathroom. It was literally that loud. And when i complained? they offered earplugs. It's a common complaint... more

When I plan a trip, I spend an inordinate amount of time researching hotels to ensure that our accommodations will be perfect. I wish I had done that before I booked the Keating. My chief complaint was, yes, the noise. The weekend of my stay coincided with Pride, so there may have been more revelers in the Gaslamp Quarter than... more

TWO MAJOR POINTS: (1)The Keating IS NOT for everyone! (2)The Keating IS PERECT for those who know what they want! We spent three unbelievable evenings at The Keating and loved every nuance of the experience. After reading some of the prior reviews, we did approach the hotel with some caution…after all, “no shower doors” & “water on the floor” and... more

I have to admit, at first i was a bit hesitant if I made the right decision booking the Keating for my stay. Looking at it from the outside, I thought I was getting one of these old hotels where the furniture hasn't been updated for 50 years, but it was totally the opposite. The hotel is a true diamond... more
