Very cute early 20th century house, clean, comfortable, great location, perfect service, good breakfast. Ann is very kind and helpful in fulfilling all your needs and make everything easy. Quiet neighborhood but very close to Downtown San Diego, restaurants etc. Highly recommended. Francesca Bianchi, Los Angeles More

Ann Callahan treated us like honored guests at her cozy B&B. The location is terrific - a two minute walk to University Ave. and the Hillcrest area's many restaurants, and less than 10 minutes driving time to San Diego's Balboa Park. We were able to easily drive to many San Diego attractions, including the Zoo, Petco Park, the harbor and... More

This was my first stay at a Bed & Breakfast and I literally feel like the luckiest girl in the world because of it. As trite as it may sound, there is really no way to capture the experience of staying here, aside from actually being here. From the AMAZING staff (Ann the owner is a true, gentle, genuine caring... You certainly can't beat the location of this little beauty - 10 minutes from everything! The innkeeper, Ann, met us at the door, and made us feel right at home. Our room was charming, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. Thanks Ann, for a very nice experience! More

I recently had a two-day business trip in San Diego. I could have stayed in a big, impersonal hotel, but I prefer the homelike atmosphere of a B&B. This was my third visit to Hillcrest House. The first thing I have to say is that it is kept immaculately clean - all the fixtures in the bathroom are sparkling and... More

My husband and I love to stay in smaller boutique hotels and B & B's and the Hillcrest House didn't disappoint. The innkeeper, Ann, is very welcoming and accommodating and her charming B & B is filled with lovely amenities. The beds are super comfortable, and we loved the double shower in the bathroom-warm and relaxing. The location is superb... More

We typically stay in hotels because the experience is predictable. Based on reviews, I decided to book the HIllcrest House this time instead. We found the room to be very comfortable, the location pretty much ideal (short drive from airport, to all activities we had planned, quick access to freeways, and very quiet). Breakfast was just what we wanted, with... More

I've stayed in lots of B&B and this was about average. Probably the best thing about this B&B is it's location. Near to lots of good restaurants, in a hip location but on a quiet street with little street noise. However, beyond this, you have to drive everywhere - Balboa Park, Gaslamp, Old Town are not in comfortable walking distance.... More

My husband and I stayed for four nights at the Hillcrest house a cozy, friendly cottage in Hillcrest. We had the best of times thanks to the hospitality of Ann Callahan, the owner. We checked the various bed and breakfast in the area since we wanted to walk to restaurants, stores, parks and the movies. We also prefer a more homey... More
