Hillcrest House is comfortable, gracious and well-located in a fun San Diego neighborhood. Lots of restaurants nearby, easy walking to Balboa Park, and close to freeway access ( a must in San Diego). Ann, the innkeeper, was so friendly and helpful. She offers a lovely breakfast for guests each morning (she's a terrific baker), and even shared her recipe for... More

We stayed in the B&B for one night after spending the day at the San Diego Zoo. The greeting service was excellent and very efficient. We were provided with restaurant and attraction recommendations and some business cards to assist in our decisions. We were also provided with a quick tour of the property, which was very helpful. We stayed in... More

Everything we look for in a B&B! Charming, comfortable, clean and not far by car or good public transit to wherever you want to go in San Diego. The innkeeper, Ann Callahan, is the best--so warm and eager to help ... after five minutes, you are likely to mistake her for your sister or favorite cousin. And whatever your questions,... More

We were totally charmed by Hillcrest House B&B. Ann is so warm and friendly and makes you feel right at home. Ann was very helpful with information on San Diego and places to see and dine, as well as logistics such as the best route to take and where to park. Everything about the B&B met or exceeded our expectations.... More

This was our first stay in the Hillcrest neighborhood and we weren't disappointed. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our room (Gaslamp) was small (we were warned ahead of time) but comfortable. One downside for this particular room was that it was at the front of the house and the street was a bit noisy the night we... More

My husband and I stayed two nights at Hillcrest House while on our babymoon. We stayed in the Old Town Room, and loved it! We loved having a private entrance and private patio (the patio is surrounded by a privacy fence, so no view, but plenty of privacy!). The room was cozy, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the owner... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay at Hillcrest House. Babymoons are a special time, and we are lucky to host many each year. As of a couple of weeks ago, a door has been installed at the entrance of the Old Town Bath Room. Our guests spoke...and we listened. Thanks again for the tip, to... More

This was our first visit to Hillcrest House, and we really enjoyed our stay. Ann was friendly and available to help whenever needed. Our room (Balboa) was small, but we were able to use the adjoining sitting room which we enjoyed. It is walking distance to the Hillcrest neighborhood which is filled with restaurants and we had two delicious dinners... More

This was my third trip to Hillcrest House, and I continue to enjoy and appreciate it more each time. It feels like coming home now and I look forward to returning when I'm away. I have stayed in a different room each time, and each has been consistently interesting and restful. Breakfasts were a highlight as usual, I really enjoyed... More

We loved this B and B. The proprietor, Ann, is friendly and most helpful. Everything was clean and well cared for. This is a nice safe neighborhood — lively, but very quiet at night to sleep. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed being able to walk to nearby restaurants. We plan on returning and telling our friends about... More

I very much enjoyed my stay at Hillcrest House B&B. The beds are out of this world and the rooms and bathrooms very clean and comfortable. The breakfast and gathering area promotes pleasant conversation with the innkeeper and other guests. I enjoyed this very much.
