I was in S Diego for the AACR meeting this April, and I decided to stay in this cool neighbor instead of the fancy hotel in downtown. Ann is great, breakfast so good, location excellent!!! I will definitely come back!

Business Travelers love our location, and it's convenience to meetings at the Convention Center. Over the years, we have hosted lots, and lots of guests looking to stay somewhere different than their Boss, and Co-Workers also attend the conference....did I say that??? Cheers, Ann ;) More

My wife and I stayed at Hillcrest for our 24th wedding anniversary. We had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast, but had heard many stories. Hillcrest is a wonderful place to stay. It is immaculate and the owner, Ann, "goes the extra mile" to make your stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast is not your typical "eggs and potatoes",... More

The only thing wrong with our visit was that we could only stay for one night! The property was impeccable and perfectly located for access to great restaurants, downtown, and Balboa Park. Our room (the Coronado) was quaint and comfortable, and Ann a fabulous host.

The Coronado Room although not very large is very popular because of the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, and kitchenette. A favorite for couples celebrating a special occassion! Thanks for the awesome review! Cheers, Ann More

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Hillcrest House as a part of our break from winter in NY. The accommodations were clean and inviting. Breakfasts were simple but ample with good variety. The rooms aren't huge but the charm of the house and neighborhood makes it a good value. Lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance.... More

Value is the key to our success. Included is not only breakfast every day, but off street parking, wifi, bottled waters, 24hr beverages, and snacks. Hotels in general add all those amenities to your bill at the end of your stay, at a premium $$$$. Thank you so much for posting a review, I hope to see you back soon!... More

We stayed with Ann earlier this month. With her local knowledge, cartogrophy skills in drawing lovely basic maps, and enthusiasm for the city, this is a MUST place to stay if you want to get the most out of a visit to this lovely and varied city. Her restaurant recommendations are first class, and the places to see are well... More

It's a very nice place. You can't beat the location if you want to walk to dinner - right in the Hillcrest area, within a very easy walk of restaurants of every kind. Ann and Shannon went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fine, and parking was included, which is very rare for San Diego.... More

We love Ann, she does an amazing job making everyone comfortable. This is our second time staying with her, I can't say enough good things about the place. The beds are comfortable and everything is kept clean and homey.

Hello Dan, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of your 2nd stay with us. You put a smile on my face, when you noticed right away, that I had a door put on the bathroom entrance of the Old Town Room (where you stayed on your 1st visit). When a suggestion comes up, it... More

We were in San Diego for a family emergency for three weeks. Ann and her trusty assistant, Shannon, took excellent care of us. We felt there was true compassion and care. We stayed first at the B&B and later moved to the vacation rental. The vacation rental is a divine two-bedroom bungalow with a terrific kitchen. We spent a lot... More
