Clean and spacious bedrooms, very comfy beds. Location is fantastic - within walking distance of a lot of good restaurants and bars. Awesome 'rooftop' style pool on the first floor, above the noise of the streets. Good views out across downtown. There was some decorating going on when we stayed, but the staff were very friendly and the car valet... More

This was both a beautiful and comfortable hotel to stay at for our conference. Our professional and personal needs were taken care of every day. I had to leave early to catch a flight. Michael was at the desk. He made sure I had a cab, my bill was correct and did this all early in the morning hours with... More

The hotel Kimpton in San Diego is a fantastic hotel. I stayed their start of January and really enjoyed my stay, the beds were comfortable, had a view of Gas lamp from the room, the staff were very nice including a man who would serve me at dinner who would always have a nice chat. The food was delicious down... More

I have stayed here a few times with my family and I will never stay anywhere else if I'm in downtown San Diego. The staff is always amazing...they all go out of their way to make sure you have great time and the rooms are comfortable. The location is hard to beat, you can walk numerous places in 5 minutes.... Excellent location with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Lots of construction going on now in this part of town but did not find it bothersome. Personal touches by the staff made us feel like family. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in downtown San Diego. Close to the ballpark and convention center. This is a boutique hotel with interesting... More

Heavenly beds, wonderful location, great food, and the most caring staff which makes you feel like family!!! While construction surrounds this hotel and booming city planning it did not affect our stay. This is the best location with a warm sunny pool, close to Petco Field and th convention center. We have stayed here multiple times and are never disappointed.... More

I made my first visit to San Diego in January 2015, and had a unique experience that gave me access to compare the Palomar to the Solamar and different rooms in the hotels. First, I was originally supposed to stay at the Palomar, but the hotel had a flooding issue and we were moved to the Solamar. The Palomar did... More

My husband and I had a great stay at Hotel Solamar. We were suppose to stay at their sister hotel, Hotel Palomar, but they had to "walk" us to this Kimpton hotel along with all the other guests...not sure what happened but every guest was displaced. We are glad it happened because it was a wonderful place to stay. Pros-... More

The location was excellent, close to restaurants and bars (which was great because we were there for 4 days. The brightest spot was the assistant front desk manager, George. He was always friendly and attentive to our needs. The other bright spot was the bar on the 4th floor, nice location and the bar staff was also very friendly. The... More

Hello Dan G, Thanks for the review! I’m glad George took such great care of you during your stay. With us being 235 rooms and downtown sunny San Diego with so many great outdoor activities, most our guests find our gym very sufficient! Great news about our rooms is their getting a refresh this year! Justin Assistant General Manager More
