We loved being able to walk to Old Town. The hotel was convenient to so much - the zoo, airport, downtown were all about 5-6 miles away. The desk staff and housekeeping staff were all very nice. Free breakfast was a good way to start the day. We paid for parking but there seemed to always be on-street spaces available.

It is obviously a Marriott but built in the 70s. Was remodeled 3+ years ago. It is in the heart of old downtown San Diego. Walking easily to those eateries and bars. It is a bit rough around the edges if you look real close. One thing I didn't appreciate was after parking in the underground garage, I thought I... More

We enjoyed our stay here for the Holiday. Bowl. The free breakfast had lots of choices. Our room on the third floor in the main building was quiet and well appointed. Of course it's close to the Old Town historic site, but we were pleasantly surprised to be able to walk to the transportation center and go most anywhere on... More

A very average hotel in San Diego. The room was grubby & very tired so we we're glad we'd only have to stay here for one night. The free breakfast was just packed with nowhere to sit but it was ok for just a cop of tea. The layout of this hotel was very poor & it felt so unsafe... More

Recently stayed for business in San Diego (again) and chose the Old Town Fairfield Inn & suites instead of staying in the Hotel Circle section again. We had no issues and the charming hotel is easy walking distance from several restaurants and bars. The rooms were clean and featured the standard Marriott amenities. This is an older hotel and it... The hotel is located in an ideal location for visiting Old Town. We have walked to restaurants, shops and around the area in general. The grounds offer some outdoor seating, which is perfect for San Diego. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel does offer breakfast, which is basic, but served it's purpose. If you are looking for a... More

On a three day stay, I must have walked past Reception three or more times a day but only once did anyone lift their head, smile and say hello. Management at this hotel should check with its staff to find out why they seem so unhappy - most especially the gentleman working the midnight to seven shift. So many positives... More

Easy to get to, great staff and the typical Fairfield breakfast offerings. Only issue would be the sound proofing of hotel is not great so you'll get lots of road and other guest noise and parking is expensive in the garage or hard to find of the street if you want to risk that. Wi-Fi is slow on the free... More

I try to stay at the Fairfield Suites anytime I travel but was extremely disappointed with the Old Town location. I must say the staff was very friendly and helpful. We checked into one of the several building and weren't in the room 15 minutes before we had guests...roaches!!! They offered us anupgraded suite but it had exposed wiring from... More
