Got an excellent deal for points and cash, been wanting to check out the W since I lived in San Diego. Was back in town visiting family and crashed here. Great location near lots of parking options and the train station and light rail. Gas lamp is a little bit of a hike, but still walkable. Room was on the... More

First, we are not quite the W's demographic - we're older, don't like loud music anymore, etc etc. That said the W was a great place to stay as the staff is ENTIRELY attentive to their guest's needs; the rooms are a good size and spotless; the Living Room bar has great food and drink especially for happy hour and... We had a very nice stay here. The rooms are very nice, very clean, but small. The location is great. Walk able to many things. They have a fun beach bar on the roof with beautiful views We would return

We stayed at the W San Diego over the Christmas Holiday period we found the staff very friendly, nice sized rooms and prompt room service. The roof top bar is a must, the food and drinks are delicious and you can enjoy the atmosphere by the fire

Staff was very friendly! Our room wasn't ready so we were offered a drink while we wait. The room was very nice. Bed was very comfy! The rooftop bar had a Welcome drink for SPG members. Thought the pool was small. It didn't have morning sun, so we couldn't have a last minute hang out at the pool in the... More

Too bad-but it's loud and terrible. Good to pop I to nightclub if you are 22 years old. Otherwise, stay away-so many other options. I think it might be the w format, but this is a little tired -so 2002, but really, let's move forward- quieter lobby-keep it at the bars

Very friendly, helpful staff. The pool is very small but nice and quiet. The rooftop is awesome for a nightcap. The Workout room was perfect for me. The hotel is nice but walking back and fourth to the hotel at night for a lady is a bit creepy. Too many bums on the next street over, not enough lighting. Jail... More

We stayed one night with three teenagers. It was the perfect location for visiting the USS Midway and Horton outdoor mall. Super easy walking distance. There is a Chipotle and Wendy's within a three minute walk, as well as Starbucks and Subway. We paid outside for 24 hours ($15), with in and out privileges at Columbia and A Street. We... More
