My wife and I came to the W in San Diego for our honeymoon and had the best time. The hotel was very clean, sleek, and modern. All of the staff were so nice and very accommodating. The rooftop area was great, we were able to get a cabana, have dinner, and bottle service all without even leaving the hotel.... More

We stayed at the W San Diego as part of a wedding party block. The rate for the Labor Day weekend was very reasonable for downtown San Diego. Upon arrival the hotel staff was very prompt at checking us in and ensuring we were moved into king bed even though they couldn't confirm when booking. The staff is about the... More

Perfect one night stay before heading to the airport in the morning. The staff here was great. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and fast - exactly what I like. Slept sound and it's downtown location was convenient to the airport and within walking distance to many restaurants. FYI: no free wifi Note on Decor: I'm back and forth on... More

Between flights we stayed at the w, with a great deal. I didn´t feel to be at a W hotel. but spent a really good night sleep, and that sometimes is enough. one night before we stayed at the encore with it´s 400 thread linens and amazing bed, so i was afraid to miss it a lot. The rooms at... More

What a Waste. I used SPG points to book this W, which left me feeling as though I'd been cheated. To wit: The decor did not meet my expectations for a W. The curtains in my room were torn and sun-bleached, all the white furniture was beat up pretty badly, showing what looked like years of scuff marks and grime.... More

Having stayed at several "W" properties I'm surprised at the great reviews. This one is not up to standards for a "W" and would be a bottom choice for a hotel in San Diego. Property: The property is small like a boutique hotel. Typical stylish decor and rooftop bar which is actually only on the 3rd floor. So don't expect... More

The Bad - Our bathroom sink wouldn't drain, Noisy construction across the street the W wouldn't acknowledge, No ice on the tenth floor, alarm testing went on til after 2100, and Saturday morning waited over 15 min. for service employees walked by as if we weren't there. The Good - Mike, Mike and Mike not only is he the best... More

I stayed two nights on a business trip and while there certainly wasn't anything horrible about the hotel there was also nothing spectacular. The staff at front desk was very nice and helpful both at checkout and when resolving an issue with my bill at checkout. I thought the room was pretty average and I was unable the entire time... This hotel is not for families - it really does cater to the younger crowd. It does have a lovely Roof Top Bar with a nice view . I found it to be quite dark in the lobby and could barely see where the elevators are located. Rooms are quite small but clean and efficient. No tubs/only showers. So maybe... More
