Most of the other reviews have said it all. A room for $40 or less with a small pool and jacuzzi. Convenient location (near Old Town & Trolley station), but near 2 major freeways and a train route! Would recommend for just a place to sleep and save a few bucks. Suggest 2nd floor and in the rear to avoid... more

We picked this motel because of the price and location to the trolley station. We knew it was a low budget hotel, but planned to do so much sight seeing that we only needed somewhere to sleep at the end of the day. The hotel was located under about 4 highways/roads and also bordered the train tracks. I was worried... more

The E-Z 8 was average at best. The carpet was dirty and there were some flies in the room that somehow we could not get rid of. My wife was not given her atm card back by the employee at the front desk and soon enough there were 5 charges for $300 on the card. The hotel is a bit... more

Stayed at hotel so we could quickly get to San Diego airport for a very early flight. Room was clean and front desk staff very helpful. Wouldn't want to stay for more than a night. Location looked a little rough but overall not too bad. Very close to train tracks. You can hear them rumbling through the area. Just a... more

The first thing you see when you find the hotel is that it is surrounded by several overpasses! In fact, one portion of the hotel actually has an overpass as its' second roof! Then, you hear the train blow its' horn and start to triple guess your decision to book there! First stop, the office.....great people! Very friendly and resourceful.... more

I was a bit apprehensive about staying here as it seemed so cheap, but we were travelling down the coast and looking to save cash wherever we could so we had money to do stuff on our trip. Check in were so helpful and nice and to our surprise the room was clean and well furnished. My only moan would... more

This is a very basic, inexpensive hotel. Good deals are hard to find in San Diego. The room was perfectly clean and in very good condition, as was the grounds and pool. It is an easy walk to Old Town and the Trolley Station, and there is a very good breakfast / lunch restaurant (Perry's) across the street. Looks like... more

OK, bad stuff out of the way first: the clientele is pretty sketchy--many of the guests appear to have left by 3AM or so, except for the long term construction workers who basically live here. The immediate neighborhood, even some of the staff are a bit intimidating if you're faint of heart. If you're espeically sensitive to noise, think twice.... more

I had actually made reservations at another Hotel, but had problems there. This hotel was the only one with rooms available. At first I wasn't too excited, but my stay ended up being very good. The sheets seemed very clean, Towels and pillow cases also very clean. I will be back to this Hotel on my next trip to San... more
