My wife and I stayed here mid week. The price is fair. If you want to be in the heart of it all, this Ramada would be OK, for maybe one night, two tops. As advertised, the rooms are super small. The bathroom was very small. It's an old build and there isn't much they can do to make the... More

Dear guest, It's true many of our rooms are about 25% smaller than a traditional hotel room. Although we do have quite a few larger rooms but to see them you must visit the hotel's web site link right here on TripAdvisor. As for our $20 parking fee it's the lowest fee of any hotel downtown and only cover our... More

Central location in the Gaslamp section made it convenient to great restaurants and to the convention center and ballpark where all the Rock n Roll Marathon activities were.

Dear guest , Thank you for the kind words . We do have one of the best locations downtown and in the Gaslamp . It's an easy walk to all downtown has to offer. We hope to see you again . More

I've used the Hotel St James every time I've stayed in San Diego and have never had anything less than flawless service. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking to visit the Gaslamp, the location is excellent and has the bonus prize of Brians 24 next door which serves the best chilli cheese fries in San Diego.

Loved the old nostalgic elevators, goodies left on the bed for us, knowledgeable staff, great, not great, but fantastic restaurant next door. Will definitely come back.

We stayed two nights. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Gas Light District. Close to everything. $20 a night to park your car, but once there, don't need it. Lobby is beautiful. Rooms are small, clean and adequate. Window a/c a little noisy. Reminds me of many hotels we've stayed in Paris. I like it because... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for the kind words and for your support. We often quote our room size as "Paris size" .We're glad you enjoyed your stay . P.S. our parking rate are the lowest downtown, most hotels are way over $30 per night . We hope to see you again . More

We came in late to San Diego and did an online booking service where it told you the hotel name after you booked. The room was very cramped but fine for sleeping. There were perhaps 3-4 ft. for a main walkway between bed and front door/bathroom. The end of the bed had another 2-3 feet clearance, and the far side... More

Dear Guest , Well I guess it all worked out . We do have some much larger rooms but you would need to visit the hotel's web sight link right here on TripAdvisor to see and book them . the sight you booked on is one of those "Opaque" discount web sights were you're told where you're staying AFTER you...
