Great room and excellent bed And pillows. Service was tops. Our only complaint was the check in time of 3 or 4 pm is way too late in the day. Needs to be closer to noon. In house restaurant was wonderful food and atmosphere.

I spent two nights here for a biz trip. The location is in the Gaslamp District and close to dozens of restaurants. This hotel is prob around 100 years old but not well renovated. The cage-type elevators are charming but hard to use when carrying luggage. My particular room faced the front street and was very noisy with plumbing and... More

Read the reviews before I booked....Anything before 2013 should be ignored....The staff was friendly at all hours no matter how much TripAdvisor grief I gave them....The room was great, small 2 bedroom, 2 sinks, no noise except for elevator traffic......$250 out the door for Fri Sat night? please.. a bargain.......

Ha ha ha, the front door of the room opened only until it hit the bed! The shower was almost as large as a small closet. Great location and clean with a friendly staff. The place is just small, VERY small. The elevators are "historical" but likewise, small and the nostalgia wears off after the second ride. I took the... More

We visit San Diego often and normally stay at the Courtyard Marriott. Unfortunately they were completely booked, as was most of the city, so I thought a familiar brand wouldn't be so bad. While the hotel is charming because of its history, the decor and furniture is outdated. When we pulled up, we waited a while before anyone came outside... More

If I could rate this 'Beyond Terrible' I would. The room was disgusting - coffee stains dripping down the wall, stained upholstery on the furniture and 'bedspread', 40 year old carpeting, and the kicker was the sink right next to my bed outside of the bathroom. The window air conditioning unit was so loud that it sounded like it was... More

The room was so small that the door would not open to its fullest; it hit the bed. The shower is so small that it is impossible to move around as one would in their own. The ceiling fan was dirty and unfortunately I did not notice it prior to turning the fan on. The room was clean and the... More

Great location in the gaslamp. There to party... awesome. There for good nights sleep. Look elsewhere. Everything is in walking distance! There is a bar next door that gets pretty loud at night. You can only valet at the hotel. Self parking is privately owned parking lots that are pricey. Staff was great! They have a bar/restaurant that is open... More

Will start with 3 good things: 1) shuttle to/from airport, 2) nice rooftop lounge, 3) friendly staff Room was ok. First day internet was not working across the building. Instead of handling it they wanted me to call their wifi provider which I did and resolved the issue for them. Their guest pamphlet claims they have dry cleaning service (which... More

Clean and comfortable room, rooms aren't as large as other hotels, friendly front desk staff and valet; the restaurant, Brian's 24, is a great place for food, especially for breakfast, vintage elevators were a surprise, street noise wasn't too bad but it wasn't the weekend, rooftop terrace afford spectacular views of downtown...
