We had two nights in San Diego on our recent East-West Coast motorcycle holiday and ended up at the Ramada (St James Hotel). For location and price it was perfect ... an older style hotel, but I like "heritage" hotels anyway. The lifts (still the originals in operation) were a little difficult to navigate with luggage (and hubby hated them)... More

This is a very old property, but the rooms are clean and cozy. And small, but what did you think? The price is less than the other nearby hotels, but it's in a great location and has an excellent staff. Don't spend your time in the room--get out there and enjoy San Diego! Then come back and sleep in your... More

Rooms were clean but not very spacious. shower was not really good though. still the hotel is nicely located and has a terrace on the rooftop. You can have some drinks with friends while enjoying fireworks of the Padres stadium. Unfortunately this terraces closes a bit too early, but anyway when the night comes, massive cockroach are joinning the party... More

We recently came into town for the National Art Education Association Convention. Being unfamiliar with the area, I used TripAdvisor to make my choice of the hotel. (Bringing 6 other colleagues can add some pressure to any selections I make!) I CANNOT say enough about the staff's professionalism, hospitality, and friendliness! The shuttle service to and from the airport was... More

Stayed here to attend something at another hotel 3 blocks away. Easy walk. This hotel cost less, had excellent rooms, had free airport shuttle, free wifi in your room, lots of shampoo, mouthwash etc. Staff were excellent. A little noisy on Saturday night but not overly so. Walking distance of Convention Center, Harbor ferry etc. Nice desk with good lighting.

Went to SD for the weekend with my boyfriend and some friends, and stayed here, location is awesome, right in the gas lamp district, near all the bars and really great restaurants, and within walking distance to the uss midway, about 20 min give or take. Rooms were small but we were only in there when it was time to... More

The manager Dennis was a wonderful assistance. The front desk men all very helpful . I would reccomend this hotel to anyone. Extreamly happy with my stay. The food in the attached resturant is very reasonable and a lot for your money. The history of the building is awesome.

The hotel was full on our arrival, but we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite. That was a very nice perk. The desk and valet staff were exceptional. Always friendly and willing to answer any questions, and accomodate our needs. Since our stay was for a week, we became quite familiar with several and they all seemed cheerful and helpful... More
