Greeted by a friendly receptionist and given a double queen room. Room was clean and well presented. Only thing missing was a hairdryer. Very easy to get to from the i5 but a $20 taxi ride into town and $25 to PB. Would stay again.

Dear seanmccarthy1, I am so glad to hear you found our accommodations clean and well presented as well as our friendly staff greeted you at the door! There are other options instead or taxi cabs especially in Old Town. We are 5 blocks from the transit station where you can catch a Trolley to downtown for $5 round trip!! Please... More

Tjhis is an old hotel that was glitzed about ten years ago. We stayed therte 12 times a year. It was upgraded from a 4 to a 5 after, but haven't done anything since that time and they have upgraded it to a 7, so your Marrioott certificates are worthless. They should downgrade it to a 4...it's so rundown. There... More

Dear Whitmore11, I appreciate your review of the property. Our hotel was renovated in 2012 and we have done many updates since then including 55" TV's in every room. We have plans to make some more upgrades in our guest rooms at the end of 2015 into 2016 which will include bathroom updates, new soft seating, new guestroom doors, and... More

We decided last minute to visit San Diego from Las Vegas on a Friday night. I choose this hotel because of the location and the Courtyards reputation. It was a fair price for a last minute reservation, and the location is perfect for old town, a 5 minute walk if that. The hotel itself was a little less then I... More

Not my first time at this hotel. My family likes to stay here because the location is close to multiple areas of San Diego. Only downside is that it backs up to the highway and road noise can be heard day and night. Had to ask multiple times to get a new battery for the remote control but otherwise service... More

I stayed at this property recently as a new twist to staying in the San Diego area. I must say that while the hotel is in a great location for walking to local shops and dining, I found the hotel room doors to look like something you would find at some nasty, cheap, hotel with 1 light bulb lite in... Dear Phillip L, I am so sorry to hear that you had issues with your air conditioner. I have spoken to our Engineers and we have resolved the issue in both rooms that you were in and have taken a proactive approach to clean the coils in all of our units to avoid this from happening in the future. I... More

So we are in the Marriott rewards program and usually try them first. We stayed here two nights of which one was free because we used points. But still not happy. The upside is if you want to have quick access to the freeway and a short walk to Old Town it works OK I won't call it a dump,... More

Dear Spencer M, I would like to thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay. I sincerely apologize for the problems you encountered. Our hotel is not your typical Courtyard as we are in an historic area. I will pass along your comments to the leadership team and we will work to resolve these... More

Stayed here one night. Parking is in a secure garage covered, at $17 per night if you self park. Staff is friendly. Vanity area is very small. Get a room away from the freeway as it is very noisy. It's not up to the usual Courtyard standard.

Stayed here end of July early August 2015 for a long weekend to visit my son. Was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff members. Room was very clean, as were all the common areas. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Hotel is in very short walking distance to Old Town and all it offers. If there... More

Just not up to the brand standards of a Courtyard. Has some of the amenities and physical surface looks of a Courtyard, but it doesn't hide the very obvious old building and worn out look of the entry way, staircase, outside walls, halls and bathrooms. The service was fine. There was a lack of enough on property parking and the... More
