My wife and I spent our 30th wedding anniversary at the hotel and were happy with with some aspects of the hotel and disappointed with many others. Pros: Nice Bed Large screen TV (not many channels) Well appointed bathroom Clean & secure Cons: The 2-room suite has the bedroom next to the door - poor design - VERY noisy hall... More

The location is great and central to most of San Diego. You are in Old Town, which has a lot of great restaurants and cute shops. The staff is incredibly friendly and accomodating. As others mention, the property is showing some wear and tear and the rooms are on the small side, but overall, this is not a bad hotel... More

Dear SDRivergirl, Thanks for the great recommendations and I am so glad our staff went above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We are in the process of making some up dates to our guest rooms especially in our bathrooms. We will also be adding 55" TV's in all of our rooms next month. Please come back and see... More

We stayed here for graduation at the MCRD last weekend. While the rooms are small they worked fine. The hotel is a bit older and is showing wear and tear but you need to realize you did not book the Ritz or Waldorf. The complaints I have seen in other reviews are really minimal at best, and I spend about... More

This hotel is perfect for anyone traveling to San Diego on business or pleasure. The location allows you to visit any part of the city easily. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the staff does an excellent job. Because of my Marriott status I was upgraded to a huge room (way too much space for me) but would be great... More

We had a fun stay here for New Year's Eve. First of all, the location is just top notch. You're a five-minute walk to Old Town's bars and restaurants and a 10-minute walk from the Old Town train station. From the station, you're maybe a 10-minute trolley ride from downtown San Diego where many Marriott properties were three times the... More

Overall we were happy with our stay in old town San Diego at the courtyard Marriott. The room was a good size and very clean. The staff was very helpful and very sweet. We did have a few issues with the Wi-Fi which was really very very bad. I personally believe that they don't make the free Wi-Fi very good... More

I'm a very frequent biz traveller and use Marriott properties almost exclusively. This trip was for a vacation with my wife, and I figured I could rely on a Courtyard to be a decent place to stay. Wrong. The first room we got was uninhabitable--hot, musty, A/C didn't work. The desk clerk, Niki--the only competent person at the hotel--quickly set... More

The good: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bad: This hotel is in poor condition. Paint is peeling, walls need repaired, and the room smelled like a bad deodorizer. The walls in the lobby restaurant were stained from what appeared to be water damage from a leaking roof. Parking was inconvenient (and was $15/night). I don't recommend this... More

I have stayed in this hotel 10-12 times on business trips over the past ten years. The last time was a personal trip that my wife and I took in October. Easy to access from the highway, about two blocks from Old Town. Clean, quiet property in a residential area bordering a tourist area. Excellent value for the money.

Desperate for the usual Marriott consistency, this Platinum member is somewhat aghast. I was "upgraded" to the Suite ... -- entering room, neither light switch worked, so had to fumble in the dark for another switch -- the room was a chilly 64 degrees -- heating controls are NOT on the floor unit, which was flashing "RE" (reset?) but hidden...
