We loved both our stay at the hotel and our dinner at the restaurant, and can't wait to come back again. We live in San Dieog and never stay in hotels in town, but this place is so unique we splurge for an overnight away from the kids!

What a wonderful experience into the past. The Victorian furniture, the claw footed bath tub, the fact that we had no tv was awesome to say the least! Great restaurant also. I would recommend the Cosmopolitan Hotel to anyone wanting a quiet and a "somewhere in time" nights stay in San Diego.

I was only in San Diego for one night and I'm very pleased I chose to stay at the Cosmopolitan. The hotel and rooms have been tastefully restored, retaining the character and history of the building yet providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The surrounding area has a lot to offer, with a wide variety of bars, restaurants and shops... More

Picked this hotel because of the history and the proximity of it to Old Town. The staff was awesome. Upon checking in I asked where I can buy ice for my cooler. The associate said I will bring you some and had it there in 5 minutes. Rooms were set up perfect to the mid 1800's. If you are into... More

We stayed in room no. 1 which has a pine bath. The room was very pretty with an old time feel to it. The furniture in the room is authentic too. There is free wi-if in the rooms but no tv, which doesn't bother us anyway. The position is fantastic, right on the square, so you can park your car... More

We stayed over Thanksgiving and had a great time. Unique experience in a small hotel. We stayed in the Pine Tub suite, and the pine tube was very nice. The food at the Thanksgiving buffet was very good. Staff was very helpful. We had no trouble with the parking, and it was nice to stay in Old Town where we... More

It was a wonderful look back into the lives of the first Spanish settlers of San Diego, Ca, who arrived in 1769. The Cosmopolitan Hotel is in Old Town San Diego - the Presidio, and was originally the home of early ranchero Juan Bandini, known as Casa de Bandini. Later it was bought by a man named Seeley. It is... More

We say here every year during the festival of Dia de Los Muertos. It was a surprise to see that a lot of the hotel staff was new when we arrived, but all were wonderfully gracious, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I wrote a review for this last year, but I guess I made the mistake of... More

We had two room for two nights. Rooms clean, pretty and comfortable. Try and find someone to help you, well you'll have to find the kitchen staff. We prepaid a few weeks ahead, when we asked for a receipt the restaurant hostess told us they don't give one, and that all we had to do was show up. When I... More

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and its Cosmopolitan Hotel are within walking distance of the Amtrak train stop; wheeled luggage is helpful. The Hotel began as an adobe La Casa de Bandini in 1829 and the wooden second story was added in 1869 to create a stage stop hotel. In 2010, the State reopened a restored hotel. The... More
