5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My wife and I were able to spend a Thursday and Friday night at Humphreys Half Moon Inn and Suites in late April 2015. Our stay was AMAZING. The property is a beautiful Hawaiian-style venue with suites which felt more like apartment units than hotel rooms. The hotel has a very charming feel. Every encounter with staff was splendid and... A bit "tired".... not great, but nice staff, great happy hour. Older carpet...just "ok". Stayed there last night, not memorable, though. Would recommend a suite by the water, as a "partial view" means a view of the water across a parking lot, street, and other buildings.

Everything was very clean and well organized. The front desk was so helpful and nice. The room service was so fast and helpful. Everything worked great and we loved our little patio which we got to enjoy a very delicious breakfast on as well as people watch. We also got to enjoy nice walks to the beach and around the... One of the best in San Diego. Pricy but worth it. Located on Shelter Island. Great restaurant. A stone's throw from the bay water. Walk to the fishing pier--good place for pub food and beer, with great beer selection. Big on wine? Visit Grape Connections around the corner. Great atmosphere, great views from rooms. You'll keep coming back!

Stayed here for two nights prior to leaving for a cruise. Checkin was a breeze and we were given some really great discounts to use around the property. Even though the stay was kind cold and windy we were still able to use the hot tub and have a few drinks at the pool side bar. Bartender at the pool... More

This hotel is on Shelter Island so a rental car is a plus if you want to venture into San Diego which we did. We ate at the onsite restaurant both nights we were there and enjoyed the live music and dancing. They offer a great happy hour for drinks and food. The hamburger was delicious! The rooms were nice... More

This was a return visit from many years ago because we love the tropical landscape. The rooms are getting a face lift with beautiful plantation shutters however the wall art in our room was much to be desired and the ceiling paint and caulk was very unsightly. Tip: don't drink the horrible room coffee since no bottled water is provided... More

Humphreys is a nice hotel with quality towels and linens. Very nice pool and jacuzzi. My room had a small fridge and microwave which is always a nice feature. My only complaint is there was a 14 parking fee and a 10 resort fee. Both seem unnecessary and an excuse to tack on fees to an otherwise very reasonable daily... More

Wow. Youre over paying for being able to walk home 20 feet after the concert is over. This is literally an $80 per night type motel and we paid $300 for the room. If you're willing to walk a little further, you can save quite a bit of money at another motel. The bed is junk. They try to slap... More

The rooms are fairly updated, but the hotel is in need of a real face lift . the prices do not reflect the accommodations, as they are pricey. The location is mainly what you're paying for but I would stay here only as my last choice on Shelter Island.
