Ocean Beach International Hostel is a cozy little hostel in Ocean Beach outside San Diego. It's a five minute walk from the beach (witch results in a lot of sand inside the hostel). The hostels pays your cap fare if you take a cap from the airport (witch is really nice if you arrive late in the evening) just call... more

What a great friendly place this is. I had issues buying a motorbike when in San Diego and ended up staying here for over a month. There's jobs going to pay the board if you're staying a while. That said, when I was there it was still only $17! A mere 5 min walk from the beach to try out... more

This was an excellent hostel. Excellent location approx 1 minute walk to the beach. Good night life in this area bit there really are only 3 or 4 pubs, no clubs its mainly beach parties and sneaky drinking in the hostel after hours. The staff are really helpful and tijuana is only a short bus ride away. Wednesdays during the... more

Everything was just perfect there... it is an awesome hostel. The space and the location are great, but the better thing was the staff... they were ALL so kind, nice people always ready to help. Organized and clean, so I do recommend it! more

Dirty rooms, dirty kitchen and dirty bathrooms. Not all independent hostels are dumps, but this one is. Perhaps some BB hostels are OK, but not OB and Mission Beach. Too bad there isn't another hostel near the beach in OB to give it competition. The closest other hostel, HI "Point Loma" (actually just as far from OB as Point Loma)... more

The Good: Free and easy to organise pick up made it easy to get to the hostel after a long flight. The free breakfast was awesome, worth getting outta bed early for. Free evening meals twice a week was brilliant, too. Great beach holiday atmosphere. Location is great, 5mins near the beach. Surfboards and bikes for rent was a good... more

Firstly, and most importantly, the town of Ocean Beach is fantastic, make sure you stay here if you're visiting San Diego. It has a slightly hippy air, with its independent coffee shops, antique stores, a fantastic beach and some really fun bars. However, give the Ocean Beach International Hostel a miss. The staff/owners don't really care about the guests, it's... more
