This is a large modern first class hotel steps from the Amtrak station downtown on what amounts to Main Street. Everything looked clean and smelled good. My room had a small refrigerator too, although I was only in town one night (for the Paul McCartney concert) and did not need it. Petco Park, home of the Padres, is within walking... More

stuart r, Our location is also one of the most favorable aspects of this hotel - we are nestled in between a few ideal neighborhoods allowing you easy access to the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, the Harbor and Seaport Village. We are also just minutes from Balboa Park. It is easy to get to great shops, dining and entertainment within... More

This is still on of my favorite properties. It's located near the water and also near the Gas Lamp District. The staff is exception and the room are immaculate. The Heavenly beds are just that. Heavenly. If you are staying in San Diego, I can not recommend this enough.

I stayed at The Westin for a week and loved every moment! I first want to applaud the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. At my request of getting a room on the upper level, the staff booked me on floor 22/23! Because I was traveling solo, I asked the concierge about the safety of traveling alone to Tijuana.... More

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon tour of California. We were able to check in a few hours early which was great as we could then take our rental car back and we were able to get the free airport shuttle back to the hotel. Meghan checked us in and was very friendly and helpful.... More

Charging me an additional $ 39.95 for three days of internet access is totally unacceptable. 1) The internet is a utility. As a business traveler, I'd never check into a hotel without electricity or running water. I have to have a connection to complete my business activities. 2) Higher end hotels steal from their customers through the practice of charging... More

I've stayed in this hotel for one night. It was in construction when I was there. Below are the pros and cons. Pros: 1. Friendly staff. 2. Close to the sea. Cons: 1. The view was blocked by other buildings so that you cannot see the carriers. 2. No hotel parking area. 3. The room has limited space. If I... More

Ling Y - I was happy to read our friendly staff and close location to the bay made such a positive impression. It was unfortunate the city was doing some work on Broadway during your stay. I am happy to report that they have completed the work in front of the hotel. We do hope you keep us and Starwood’s... More

We went to San Diego on a staycation. We went to the wrong Westin, as I didn't know there were two and we had stayed at the one which is now called The Westin Gaslamp. They aren't very far apart and I hear that it's a common mistake. I wasn't disappointed in the Westin we stayed in, about three blocks... More

Barbwan, We are a great option for staycationing in San Diego. San Diego has a lot to offer in both counties and we make it easy to get away. It is a quick Metrolink or Amtrak ride down south. Our hotel is only two blocks from the train and trolley station. We are walking distance between Little Italy, the Gaslamp... More

We visited San Diego for 2 days while we were in Vegas for an extended holiday. The hotel was in a good location for the ferry to Coronado and for the transport links. It was also close to the Gaslamp area for nightlife and the shops. The price was good. The room was comfortable and clean. Would have liked it... More

Meghan at the check-in desk was extremely pleasant and accommodating. She enrolled us in the Starwoods Preferred Guest program, gave us a complimentary upgrade to free Wi-Fi during our stay and gave us the "green" option to forgo the disruption of having maid service come our room daily, which we quickly took advantage of. The room was a little on... More
