We stayed at the Westin San Diego for three days to attend the San Diego film festival. The location was great and we could easily walk to all the venues. The train depot is nearby and the highway entrance/exit is less than a mile away so it makes getting around the San Diego area very simple. The hotel itself was... more

I was attending a conference in San Diego and had to choose from all of the downtown hotels. I always love Westin, but I was torn, since there are 2 Westins in downtown, this on and Gaslamp. I, of course, read the reviews on TripAdvisor and choose this one. I was not disappointed! The hotel was great. Wonderful, helpful staff.... more

You know what? Westin did the best it could with this one. The Westin San Diego shares its lobby with an office complex, Emerald Plaza, and it's hard to see where one starts and one stops. (As a result, you sometimes feel like you're standing in an office rather than a hotel lobby.) That said, the rooms have been freshly... more

We had absolutely no complaints with the Westin San Diego, and our trip was perfect in every aspect. The Valet guys were prompt and our car was always there by the time we got down the elevator. The location was prime (only 5 min walk from Gaslamp district and the heart of the city) and in the other direction a... more

We stayed 2 nights in June 2008. Staying here again would certainly not be the worst thing, there are definately some niceties, but the little things started to add up enough that next time we go to San Diego we will very likely try another hotel as this Westin did not "sell us." The good: 1) We asked for a... more

This hotel has a great downtown location, a beautiful lobby, very nice rooms and pleasant staff. It was certainly above average, but a little short of excellent, though. Major issue: Simply put, the internet service sucked. At the lobby it's free, but it's soooooo slow that make you want to scream. You're better off crossing the street to a Starbucks... more

Nice hotel close to the Gaslamp quarter and Horton Plaza. The rooms are quite big and I guess a light renovation was done recently. My room had a nice view of the ocean. The room rates are competitive but the valet parking is quite expensive at $27 per night. more

We decided to stay in town to get away from the norm and catch a padre game. The westin was perfect. The room was great and our concierge gave us the perfect trip through the gaslamp, hitting a bunch of the infamous bars on our way to the game. It was only a two stop trip on the trolley back... more

The Westin San Diego is a great hotel for a downtown San Diego get away. The hotel is clean, neat, and very comfortable. I was visiting San Diego with my two daughters and we had a great room, comfortable beds, and great room service. The hotel is also in a great location which is walking distance to the Gas Lamp... more

Two things to note regarding my stay: 1. Check your baths towels before you start using them when you get out of the shower, two of the four towels had long strands of brown hair folded into them - disgusting is right! 2. Beware of having your vehicle valet'd at the hotel ... my vehicle returned with significant front end... more
