We have been staying here for 5 or 6 years, and are always happy to return. Great hosts (Ben and Doug), great location in walking distance to all the things we like to do in San Diego, great breakfast, great company at breakfast, and many great restaurants nearby.

Keating House is a lovely property and the owners, Ben and Doug, were wonderful hosts. The house is very conveniently located in a quiet residential area within a short walking distance to area restaurants, Balboa Park and Little Italy. The home's gardens are beautiful with a nice seating area in the back yard. I stayed in the Aqua room and... More

Excellent place to stay- B&B is designed in a Victorian motif and kudos to Ben and Doug for an excellent job. The locale is very safe-as is most of San Diego and I routinely walked from the Gas Lamp District to/from Keating Inn~ 1.5 miles distant. Public transportation is excellent if you prefer the bus. There's no TV in the... More

The hosts love what they do. Breakfast is prepared on demand in the gorgeous dining room. The house is lovingly restored and has garden spots to sit and enjoy the birds and tropical foliage. I was able to walk to the zoo as well as downtown. Quiet, residential neighborhood.

The B&B is close to everything. Walk to Balboa Park and it's museums, gardens and zoo. Little Italy is very close with great restaurants. The Keating house is very quaint, the breakfast is wonderful, but, we had Quiche three days in a row. We would have appreciated something different each day (pancakes, stuffed french toast, etc.) The inn keepers Doug... More

My husband and I stayed at the Keating House this past December and we loved it, as we always do! It is beautiful, peaceful, and Ben and Doug make their guests feel at home. Ben shares more tips for good walks, restaurants, and anything else you could ever want from San Diego than most locals would be happy about. And... More

The owner does a great job of making one feel at home. I liked the fresh baked bread and fruit as part of the excellent breakfast. The Keating House is also in a great location. It allows one to walk to the zoo, Gaslamp district, and Balboa Park. I am so glad my girlfriend suggested staying at a bed &... More

We stayed a week and loved it. Ben and Doug are terrific hosts. The house is quirky and pleasant, the atmosphere laid-back and comfortable -- a home away from home. We followed Ben's advice on where to eat and what to see and were glad we did. Yes, it's near the path for incoming flights, but we didn't even notice... More

Wonderful breakfasts, great centralized location. Owners were visible, serving breakfast and answering questions, and always extremely helpful. Blue room was small, but clean. Claw foot tub is narrow and hard to maneuver, but water was always hot when I needed it to be. Individual room doors do not lock, only front door has a lock, but nothing came up missing.... More

My husband and I stayed at Keating House on our vacation to San Diego from Edmonton, Canada. We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very friendly and made helpful recommendations for restaurants and activities based on our interests. The house is charming, with lots of character and the location excellent for walking and exploring the city. We didn't even... More
