I stayed at the Gaslamp Plaza for 7 nights in August. The hotel is right in the heart of everything & so close to Horton Plaza. We didn't hire a car but still managed to go to Seaworld, The Zoo, Coronado & La Jolla on public transport. We also got a coach tour to DisneyLand. The roof terrace is certainly... more

Family of 4 stayed at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites for 3 nights in late July in a Junior Suite (1 bedroom). Found the hotel to be what I had expected based on previous reviews. Excellent location for downtown without a car. Nice staff. Hotel is older but well kept. Breakfest is minimal. Very good value for the location. Noisy on... more

Stayed 20th to 25th June. Arrived at 12.30, to early to check in, Check in time 4pm, Left luggage there and went across road to Gaslamp Tavern for Lunch. Came back at 2.30 and was able to check in. We had booked a Small Studio Full/Queen and were a little apprehensive about the size of it, when we got to... more

This was an old hotel which had some style. Staff were pleasant and fairly helpful, and our suite was a good size and comfortable. The furniture and bathroom were a bit dated, but were clean and the facilities were adequate. It was good to have access to the roof terrace at any time. Breakfast was fairly limited though, and the... more

Stayed in the Gaslamp Plaza for 2 nights in June 2007. Family of 4 including 2 teenage daughters. The specific type of suite we had booked in February with 2 bathrooms (because of 3 girls) was not available upon arrival because the people staying there before us "decided to stay longer." Never heard that excuse before, but that was the... more

Stayed for six nights in mid-May. Only five miles from the airport. Disn't rent or feel the need for a car. Great location in Gaslamp, close to resturants, bars, Petco Park(walked to a ballgame). Just my wife and I, so plenty of room in the studio. Older building with character. Rooms clean and well kept. On the tenth floor, so little... more

I stayed only one night due to sheduling details, but I enjoyed my stay very much. Check in was quick and they have a friendly helpful staff manning it. The suite was a king on the sixth floor, high enough to not be bothered by traffic noise. The suite was clean and comfortable. The doors have the old fashion doorhandles... more

I selected the Gaslamp Plaza Suites for its location and price as I was to be in town for just one night and traveling solo. I booked the smallest single and the room was indeed small, but fully appointed and quite comfortable and quiet. It wouldn't be big enough for 2 people. The wireless internet (for a fee) had a... more

We stayed at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites from 3/3 to 3/9. The hotel is a bit old, room was ok, outdated & old style. We had the junior suite which was too much room for us. Only had queen bed. If you want a king you will need to stay in a studio, we should have done that instead of... more

Our stay at Gaslamp Plaza Suites had highs and lows, but overall this is a reasonable value for a downtown stay. The Suites are wonderfully located for shopping and dining in the Gaslamp District. The rooms are updated, clean, relatively spacious if a bit oddly laid out, probably due to the state of planning in 1913 when it was built.... more
