I have been staying at the Crystal Pier for 25 years and have lost count of the number of times I have been a guest there. Last week I returned from my umpteenth visit. If you don't mind a clean, cute, older cottage with a shower, no tub, no luxury touches, then you are in for a treat. A well-equipped... More

I saw these cottages years ago and had tried several time to get reservations but sadly they were always booked (months/years in advance). However, this Jan. I got lucky and obtained reservations for a two day (mid week) stay. I reserved Cottage A and couldn't have been happier! It was clean, cozy, comfortable and with a sunset view to die... More

A group of 4 women rented cottage #2 for an annual get together. The cottage was on the N side and really was fine. Some sun in the am when we had coffee in the am. $420 each night in non summer season. We booked it in Oct. of 2014. It was bigger than we thought it was going to... More

I am in love with Crystal Pier. I would leave my husband if I could live here. We stayed in cottage B, which I highly recommend. It is the last cottage closest to the ocean. It was completely private, except for the seagulls that visited. You have a nice deck area with a couple of chaise lounges and a table... More

There are two different aspects to this place - its location and its cottage. The location on the pier is 4 stars, the actual cottage is more like 3. We were here the first weekend of January and chose a 1 bedroom cottage toward the end of the pier. When you drive on, of course the reaction from adults and... More

the folks that run this place are super nice and the cottage and location were all very nice. what I wished I'd known before we stayed there was how much this cottage moved, shook, shuddered and the booming noise of surf on the pier below...(we originally booked for 4 nights, but gave up after 3 as it was too hard... OK we live in San Diego and have always wanted to stay here ..WOW what a great idea that was!! here it goes.. PROS: 1. Right over the water . You can hear the waves crashing so calming. 2. Ocean breeze and the smell is so relaxing. 2. Private deck so you can watch everyone on the beach in comfort... More

My wife and I stayed in cottage A ar the beginning of november for our birthdays. Check-in was great. Driving on the pier all the way to our parking spot at cottage A was also unique. As we entered the private secure gate of our cottage we were stunned by the veiws. The cottage was nice perfect for a romantic... More

We visited Pacific Beach earlier in the year and stayed at the Pacific Terrace. That was a nice place but while we walked down the strand ( ocean promenade) we noticed the Crystal Pier, an historical hotel. We decided to come back and stay. We reserved cottage 20, a new two bedroom unit. It is spacious, with a large deck... More

It had been our dream to stay at Crystal Pier since we first visited California in 2011 and came across it when walking along Pacific Beach. 3 years later that dream came true and what better time than our honeymoon! The cottages along the pier are just lovely, with stunning views and you just can't beat the feeling of lying... More
