Since we were only staying in San Diego one night and didn't need a lot of space we opted for the $99 Aruba room. The room is small, but it's in the very back of the hotel and extremely private. I found this hotel on TripAdvisor and got pretty much what I expected. I stayed in the City Lights room for two nights. Everything was clean. Liked the fridge, microwave, free Wi-Fi. I stayed at the Balboa Park Inn for 3 nights during a trip to San Diego. I was very happy with everything, the location was great for Balboa Park, the room was lovely and the kitchenette very well equipped.
