In contrast to most reviews so far I had a very good stay at Howard Johnson in Tupelo. The room was in good condition, quiet, beds were fine, bathroom was clean, room service was good. Plus the room had fridge and microwave. And all this for $50. Additionally, breakfast was free but of course it was not something exceptional but... more

So, i Am a pretty understanding person but this is the one time in my life that I found my self unable to deal any longer...... I arrived at the HOJO at 8 30 pm. We had reserved a queen bed. Simple right? Well, we got to the room which was nasty on the outside, to find the nastiest hotel... more

We had to evacuate from Louisiana from Hurricane Gustav. We reserved rooms here, worst mistake of our life! Our room smelled like somebody died in it, flies everywhere, couldn't get blankets, woken up every morning at 5:30 am by const. workers staying there and they partied all night. I was given ROOM SPRAY & CARPET POWDER to take care of... more

We booked this hotel online. From the online pictures, the rooms and pool seemed to look fine. Wrong!! We checked in on Sunday, the 29th around 8:00pm. After driving ten hours that day, all we could think about was how much fun we would have with the kids at the pool that evening. The check in area seemed nice. The... more

My wife, my two children, and I checked into this hotel on June 29, 2008 at 16:16. We didn't expect the place to be as nice as others in which we had stayed, but we expected much more than we got. The room smelled musty and the first thing we noticed was an inoperable smoke detector. We contacted the front... more

This is the worst stay in years that I have had.Check in was O.K.. but it ended there. The frist thing I noticed was the smell of musky moldy air when I walked into the room.Looking over our room we found ants on the walls, roachs in the room, spiders in the bath tub. The wall paper in the room was falling off... more

I stayed at howard johnson express in tupelo for 3 days and really enjoyed my stay. The room was very nice and clean. The employees were helpful and nice. I would recommend this hotel for others to go and stay at, as I really had enjoyed my stay there and plan to go back there next week. more

Stayed HJ in april this year. Room tatty and smelly, door did not close properly. Pool digustingly filthy, green slime all over pool. Security guards staking out a room all morning (honest it was like a movie) Need I say more more

We stayed here not from choice, but nowhere else had a room available. The room was clean, bathroom not so clean & only 1 hand towel between 2 & no bath mat. Light fittings were not fixed to the wall properly, damaged chair leg, wallpaper peeling. For the type of accommodation offered it was expensive. Breakfast was good though! more
