We stayed three nights before our trip to England and felt this was a very good choice. It's an old hotel with character and history. We had booked a regular king room, but asked if we could have a free upgrade (we always do and it often pays off). We were given a large suite on the sixth floor with... More

stayed 1 night in 2 bedroom 6th floor corner suite, there were 4 of us so lots of room. across the street from fenway with a lot of restaurants and sights close by.the room was equipped with microwave, fridge, and windows you can open. you're high enough that the street noise doesn't bother and the views are neat! parking was... Good location one block from Fenway Park and close to BU and the Kenmore T stop. It's a quick T ride to the beginning of the Freedom Trail. This is an old hotel that is well-kept. Room 608 was a mini suite and very spacious with a microwave and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable. I have one minor complaint... More

SO great to be close to all activities in Kenmore Square. Very clean, and the service is very accommodating. This is an older building so the Elevator is tight and slow. Windows in the rooms are very large and feature great views of Kenmore Square. Will come again

We stayed here for two nights in April. We arrived at 11am and the hotel arranged to store our bags so we could go out and explore, hotel is located across from Fenway Park and not far from a subway stop, we used the subway just twice to get to and from the hotel, all the other times we just... We booked the Buckminster via the hotwire site. We booked it for 2 adults and 1 child under 17 years (my son, aged 14). I definitely opted for a hotel with 'free wi fi' and 'free breakfast' . When we arrived, tired, after 16 hours of travelling from the north of Scotland, we checked in only to discover that the... More

A local historian told us the 1897 Buckminster is probably the oldest operating hotel in Boston. That's easy to believe: the furniture in our suite had taken some serious battering and there were traces of both wear and renewal all over the place. That said, our 5-day stay there was singularly pleasant. The staff was young and very able --someone... More

This is an older hotel with weird hallways, however it was clean and our double-bedroom suite was very spacious, other than the bath, which was small. We were on the third floor overlooking the busy street and it was a bit noisy but great people watching. We heard no noise from the other rooms nearby or above us.

My husband and I recently stayed here and we found it to be exactly what we were looking for in our first trip to Boston. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The staff in the restaurant was nice. Our room, while more than what we needed was nice, clean and had great views. We loved that it... More

While traveling with 2 couples, we reserved 2 rooms at the Buckminster for a night in Boston on 3/4/14. We made the reservation through a 3rd party (getaroom.com) Upon arrival, we were informed that we had been placed in a "newly renovated 2 bedroom suite which is very nice"and that the hotel had "cleared this" with our 3rd party booker....
