We were in Boston just overnight for a concert. We booked Courtyard Boston Downtown only because it was 335 feet from the Wilbur Theater per Mapquest. Walking from subway to hotel, we were thrilled to see "Human Nature's" marquis almost across the street from hotel. We arrived early, before check-in permitted and were advised (matter-of-factly) that bell services would hold... More

Ah, the joys of staying in an old hotel. Zero soundproofing, outdated plumbing, tiny spaces, no outlets and worn-out furniture are hallmarks of older properties. The Courtyard Boston Downtown is no exception. Yes, they are in the process of renovating and yes, the staff is fully aware of the problems. This is where the difference lies. The staff is extremely... More

Stayed here for a wedding. I read some reviews that the hotel was under renovations or not the cleanest were not at all what we experienced. Great room, nice big bathroom, clean, modern lobby with coffee/bar. Only downside - and it's statewide - is the no booze in hotels. There are signs in the lobby but have never seen that.... More

This hotel is an anomaly. On the one hand great 1920s building with a lovely foyer located in the theatre area.On the other hand the room was in serious need of renovation as it is shabby and frankly not four star quality. Our bathroom ceiling was in a poor condition with a large stained patch of filler approximately 12x8 inches... More

I was there for 2 nights. Advertised on web as newly renovated. Only partially true. The lobby has been done and is quite nice. However the majority of the rooms have not been renovated and this is a surprise when taken to your room. Staff was pleasant. I was on the 6th. floor and the ice machine was broken. Reported... More

Dear Marcia S Thank you for your feedback on your stay. The second wave of room renovations begins in November. Your floor is scheduled to be renovated at that time. I am happy to report that we have recently purchased 3 new ice machines. I am sorry that you had to travel to other floors to find ice before we... More

This hotel is quite a pickle. Basically, if you're on floors 8 or below, I've stayed in rooms at a old Comfort Inn in Fayetteville, NC that look better than this place. Commenting on floors 8 and below, the rooms are very small and filthy. "Clean" by housekeeping standard, but the carpets are dirty, the walls are meh, and the... More

Dear John C. Thank you for your feedback on your stay. I am pleased that our staff was responsive to your request and able to move you to one of our newly renovated rooms. As you noted, our rooms are smaller than modern rooms built today. I am happy to report that we have plenty of luggage racks available and... More

I had to be up in Boston for a few days for a business trip. Our event coordinator selected this hotel for the 12-15 people that would be meeting and staying in Boston for the event. When I came to Trip Advisor to check the reviews in advance of our meeting, I must admit that I was a bit horrified.... More

Maximillion1000000, Thank you for the great review. I am so glad you were surprized. We have renovated half of our rooms and will complete the rest later this year. Our rooms are small but we all love what the designer did to make the most of the space. Thank you for the kind words about our food. Our Executive Chef,... More

Nice hotel overall . Staff was friendly . Good location near Quincy Market and subway . Rooms were nice but kinda of small. Valet parking 43.00 or you can park in same garage the valet uses across the street from hotel for 25.00 ( worth valet if you plan to use your car during stay ) As is most hotels... More

Smallest room I have ever been in. Barely enough room for two people and luggage. No fan or counter space in bathroom (had to leave toiletry bag on floor), tv quality very poor, no place for luggage without tripping over it. Very noisy (could hear hairdryer from the elevator).. very warm in the room - thermostat not useful. Very disappointing... More

Dear pjsrps, Thank you for the feedback from your stay. I am sorry you were in an older style room. We are continuing our room renovation project this winter and that will greatly improve the guest experience. We understand that our historic nature isn't for everyone. More

Stayed here for an overnight stay. I did not know what to expect from this hotel due to the variety of mixed/different reviews on Tripadvisor. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Location: Good. In the Theatre District. Room: I got a corner room. It was spacious. Spotlessly clean. Nicely furnished. Comfy beds. Coffee and tea making facilities. Minifridge. A special place... More
