it is clear that this place has seen better days. The carpet was worn out and the bathroom was no different than what you find at a motel. The concierge did not know much about activities. I found better information using the internet than what they told me. Finally, they will try to gouge you. When I checked it, they... More

I visited this hotel with my wife and son. It has an awesome location and oozes old world charm. Our room had a park view with two double beds. It was well worth the modest uncharge to have a room on the front of the building overlooking the park. Size wise, it was ample but not what one would call... More

The Taj Boston gets it just right. Thebest part is clearly location. Overlooking beautifully manicured gardens and fronting high end Newbury Street. One of the iconic bars in the whole US just begs for an end of day cocktail and the concierge services some of the best I have experienced, Jean really good do no more to help. The rooms... More

Hotel is elegantly appointed, the location is great and the rooms are spacious and clean. The décor can either be looked at as old world or a bit dated, depending upon your taste, though bathroom was updated and modern. The service is excellent, but the valets and bell boys are a bit overzealous and can come across as trying too... More

I just stayed at the Taj again and had a lovely two room suite. The décor of the rooms is very traditional and the living room of my suite had a fireplace, couch, desk and flat screen TV. It was very welcoming and cozy. I checked in at night and did not realize that many of the windows looked out... More

The Taj is the old Ritz Carleton in Boston. Located across the street from the lovely Boston Public Gardens, the owners have preserved all of the old school charm of the Ritz. The staff is both considerate and attentive. The room was good, beds very comfortable and the food was better than good. Great bar. Its location is central to... More

We have had mixed success finding the right hotel in crowded downtowns around the U.S., so we checked into the Taj with a bit of trepidation. But from our early check-in to our late check-out two days later, everything about our visit was spot on. Our room overlooking the Common was spacious with a nice seating area and desk. The... More

I wish I was able to stay at this hotel longer. Every employee we met made us feel welcome and important. The turn-down service was an unexpected bonus. The view from the room was of walls, which was not lovely, but the room was spacious and provided more than enough comfort and luxury to make up for view. Robes and... More

Formally the Ritz-Carlton since the early 30`s till around 2006, it still conserves that old-world, Bostonian elegance. It is located in the upscale shopping area of Newbury Street on Beacon Hill and just across from the famed and beautiful Boston Commons. From the moment you arrive, they envelop you with their charm! From the Bellmen to the Front Desk staff,... More

Great location. Living a bit on reputation and location. Hotel now a 4 1/2 star couple of issues including peeling paint in room and restaurant a little too slow from kitchen. Location to everything great. Bar is what is expected of top level.
