The Taj like any other Taj has a great location but you certainly pay for it. The hotel was kind enough to provide me with free internet and waive the rolling bed fee because of my patience when checking in (as a trainee was helping me out) I always get annoyed that at this day and age luxury hotels want... We stayed here at The Taj by default (tagged along on a trip). The hotel is nice, beds are comfortable, and the location is great. The hotel is just a little less modern than we typically prefer. With that said -- Newbury Street/Boston Commons/Commonwealth Ave all directly across the street. Charles River is a 10 minute walk and Quincy Market... More

This was our second visit, and were not disappointed. Last time, we had an inner suite, which was large, but faced the interior of the building. This time we had a suite overlooking the park. Not as big as the inner suite, but the view alone would be worth the extra cost. The staff were attentive, friendly and processional.

This was my first time staying at this property and I would compare it closely to The Ritz Carlton. My room was spacious and decorated nice. The room was very clean and it had a nice mini bar stocked with all of the things that I love. I definitely recommend this hotel for the value and convenience of downtown Boston.

Good at making you feel welcome, luxury in an old fashion way. Excellent Indian food. Ideally located by a nice park, good for running. Vallet parking taking way too long, their parking must be far from the hotel. Waited 30 min for the car....

We spent a weekend in Boston at the Taj for a wedding at the hotel. The minute you enter you are greeted with a warm and friendly staff that wants to serve your needs. Within a few minutes walk of the hotel is shopping, eating and the great attractions Boston is known for.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Boston. The location is perfect for sightseeing- and is located directly across from the park. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The service was excellent. I'm very glad I chose this hotel for my vacation.

The hotel was a reasonable 5 star experience and generally comparable other 5 stars in the City such as Fairmont and 4 Seasons - the reason for the one star review is they charge for internet- and to rub salt in the wounds they charge per device - so my family of four was another $40 per night for internet... Being from Boston and having left for Miami Beach 17 years ago, it was such a treat to stay in such a prime locale. The Taj does justice to the history of the neighborhood, and the attentive staff made us very welcome. Concierge service was also stellar.
