Great location - walking distance to Boston Common, the Public Garden, lots of other attractions, close to public transit for further away locations. Good free breakfast. The wi-fi worked great and was free throughout the hotel. I had a single room, which admittedly was tiny as hotel rooms go but all I needed as I was on my own and... More

The location of this hotel is brilliant; near Boston Common and Newbury Street. The staff is very friendly and the continental breakfast is good value for money. The rooms are small and a bit old, so I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay but for a short city trip, I would definitely recommend it.

I chose the Milner for a couple of reasons. First, the price is low for a central-Boston hotel, but includes ensuite bathrooms and included breakfast, which you don't generally see in this price range in big cities. Second, the location was perfect for my needs--just around the corner from some of the "big-name/high-price" hotels, same access to transportation, restaurants, the... More

Stayed at this hotel for a single night. It is nicely located near the theater district of Boston. The room is clean and hygenic and the personal is friendly. The bed was comfortable and in the lobby a computer was available with internet connection and a printer. Small points if criticism are that the temperature of the shower was not... More

Good hotel go stay for a short time. Its a very old building, but rooms are good (good bed, good shower) and quiet. A remarkable aspect: it's one of the only hotels in Boston that I know that serves (a good) complimentary breakfast. Very good localization - close to theater's area in Boston and 2 min far from Boston Common. Nearest... More

For Boston, this is a pretty decent budget hotel. I stayed here for 1 night in Nov 2015 by myself. Desk staff was courteous yet indifferent. My room was on the first floor facing the street, but I heard no appreciable street noise. I didn't mind so much, but others may think the rooms are small, as is typical in... More

The Good: great Location close to everything you need, value price, free wi fi, cable channels and heating. On site laundry for guests. The Bad: A bit run down, relatively unfriendly staff (not tip worthy at all), no on site parking, lowish water pressure and temp control issues, breakfast is sugar laden junk food mostly (no real healthy or savoury... I stayed at this hotel 2 nights while on a business trip. I was charged 660 dollars for a pretty small room (even though I found afterwards it was "the suit") with a bathroom where the toilet didn't flush 4 times out of five. The heating system made such a terrible noise that I prefered to be cold rather than... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
