Exceptionally large room (really a suite) with kitchen, quite quirkily furnished. Beautifully appointed bathroom. Very friendly with a very adequate breakfast.Main line Metro access very close. Only downside is that it's close to a very busy raised road intersection, which whilst not interfering too much with sleep, meant that half of the immediate walking environment was unattractive.

Thanks for your review and for choosing to stay with us! We hate the overpass next to us, too, but there's not much we can do but avert our eyes to all the other beautiful things nearby! :) It's even sadder when you know that that section of the Muddy River was originally part of the "Emerald Necklace", the connecting... Nestled in a row of classic 1800's Back Bay brownstones, this B & B offers proximity to many of Boston's attractions and colleges. Great place to stay if you're a Red Sox fan. Fenway Park is about a 10-15 walk, Kenmore Sq. and the Boylston Ave. shopping districts are about the same distance away. Pedi-cabs available close-by if you don't... More

My husband and I stayed for an extended weekend before and after the marathon. My parents and Aunt also had rooms. We all very much enjoyed our rooms. This property is close to everything either by the T or within walking distance. My husband and family were able to spectate the marathon and watch for me near Kenmore Square and... More

How pleasant it was to return at end of day to this B&B and rise in the morning. Traveling solo I did not need a large room and opted for the Garden Room downstairs; was surprised at how spacious it is. And so warm and comfortable. The bed was comfy and firm enough for my bad back; the kitchen equipped... More

Beautifully appointed rooms, spilling with sunlight, personal accents and lots of cozy spaces - The Gryphon House offers a place to retreat from the city. Centrally located - steps from Kenmore Square -it is a great place for business or touring. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed with our two kids and it was so like a home... More

Discreet, quiet, comfortable, and convenient, the Gryphon House is a gem. Reasonably priced, charmingly decorated, and very well run. Close to Boston University, Fenway Park, and Kenmore Square, from where the T will take you anywhere in Boston, Cambridge, or environs in just a few minutes. Take a pleasant walk through the Fenway to the Museum of Fine Arts or... More

My daughter and I stayed at Gryphon House for 3 nights in the morningside suite. We arrived late the first night and they were very accommodating for our late check-in. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was not fancy, but was just perfect for us. We enjoyed a selection of pastries, breads, cereal, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs,... More

Gave a lecture at BU last week, and they booked me into Gryphon House. Easy to get there from Logan airport: Silver Line bus to South Station, and T (subway) from there. Very easy, quick, and cheap. Gryphon House is small (8 rooms, I think) with friendly, low-key, helpful co-owner and staff. It is an old brownstone right at the edge... More

No matter where you have to be in Boston, the Gryphon House is the best place to stay! Centrally located, with a taste of the country right in the middle of the city, you will be pampered by warm, welcoming people (often the owners). The parlor is inviting, the rooms are beautiful, breakfast is delicious! The owners' personal touch is... More

Gryphon House was a delight. The house is a magnificent building decorated in Victorian/ Arts & Crafts style. There's a nice parlor downstairs for breakfast and relaxing. The rooms are huge and very well appointed, spotlessly clean with good beds. Although it's a block away from noisy Storrow Drive (and the beautiful Charles River beyond that), the street itself is...
