The best thing about Loews Boston is probably its location - a short walk to Boylston St and the shopping at Back Bay. The hotel itself is pretty average. The room, bathrooms and furnishing are starting to show their age. Our room is quite dark and looks into a gutter. The bed is a little too soft for our liking.... More

Meeting some friends here after we obtained our reservation on Hotwire, we were delighted with the room, location and friendly staff. Within easy walking distance of the Prudential Center, parks, Public Library, etc. The breakfast each morning was delicious and with many gluten-free options. One night we walked to Jacob Wirth for dinner and it was fun if you are... More

I stayed at the Loews Boston on business, at the low season and got a great rate. As usual, they did a great job - spectacularly clean and well maintained, as well as great design. If it's in your price range, I would highly recommend this hotel - great staff, location, and rooms!

We stayed here for two nights to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The hotel is charming yet very modern and is in an excellent location close to shopping on Newbury Street, the restaurants of the South End and the T. The rooms were lovely with some nice features: spacious bathrooms, bathrobes and a great TV. The standout at this hotel... More

I've stayed at a number of hotels in Boston. Thought I'd try Loews , and was more than pleasantly surprised. Excellent front desk staff and concierge . Extraordinarily Friendly and very helpful. Rooms are nice, good size bathrooms and king size room. But.. The winning solution was their restaurant. Excellent, superb and unique , fresh food choices. Dinner with two... More

I was attending a conference at The Westin and wanted a smaller hotel nearby. Loews fit the bill. Room was on the small side however tastefully furnished, wonderful for a solo travelled but perhaps a bit tight if I were with my husband. Bed was among the most comfortable I have slept in ( when I'm replacing my mattress at... More

Really enjoyed my stay here. Hotel is beautiful and close to many great amenities. The rooms were on the smaller side but very comfortable and well kept. I particularly loved the heated towel rack! There is a great bar called Precinct in the lower level of the hotel. The hotel was a former police department and the bar is themed... More

I regularly stay at Loews, it is in a great location, very close to shops and restaurants etc. The one thing I occasionally complain (hasn't changed in all this time) is that they would leave you a tiny bottle of complementary water and you have to pay $7 for a top up. The bottle is also the same price if... More

I brought my husband to Boston for a birthday getaway weekend (from Houston) and wanted to stay in an interesting and fun hotel. I quickly found Loews because of it's history as the former Boston Police Department. I liked the "feel" of the hotel and the ambiance that the restaurant pictures displayed. Prior to our arrival, I had conversations with... More

Really lovely boutique hotel, great location - a few blocks to shopping. Beautifully decorated rooms. Incredible bed, with lovely pillows, sheets, thick comforter - I didn't want to get up. Heated towel rails, fantastic bathroom amenities from comfort zone - which smells wonderful and I meant to see if I could purchase some before I left and I forgot. Great... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
