This hotel is fabulous!!! The fact that it is really close proximity to the TD Banknorth, makes it fantastic for us hockey-nuts!!! The T is right around the corner and everything is within walking distance - you don't have a view from the windows, but really, who the heck is busy staring out a window in Boston?!!! :) This was... more

the hotel lobby/bar area is small & basic but the rooms (albeit on the small side) had everthing that we needed including towelling robes, large flat screen TV, free morning newspaper & fully stocked mini bar etc. We did sleep in a room next to the 7th floor lift but no problem with noise etc. However, their was construction work... more

After reviewing hotels in boston for days and days, I'm so glad we settled on The Onyx Hotel. It was about a 5-10 minute taxi ride from the airport and although it's not the prettiest streets, when we walked into the hotel we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was of average size but was well air conditioned with a... more

Dear Guest, Thank you kindly for your glowing review of our property. I was thrilled to read that we were in fact the perfect fit for your most recent trip to Boston. I agree with you that although we are located on a smaller side street our location is perfect for those visiting the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, The...

We stay at Kimpton hotels frequently, and love them. This hotel is no exception. We were cordially greeted, our room was ready (be sure to call ahead for early check-in),and the room itself was fun, well-stocked, and clean. Even our Lhasa Apso dog was greeted with water and treats. We were concerned about the area, after reading several reviews, but... more

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your recent review of your stay with us. As you noted we are absolutely pet friendly, so I am happy your four legged friend was warmly received. Additionally, I am pleased your early arrival request was able to be accommodated. We do always try our very best to accommodate early arrival requests as...

I was a first-time visitor to Boston during graduation season and this was one of the few hotels with a vacancy. It was very close to the "T" so we were able to either walk or take the subway to all the sites we wanted to visit. Very nice rooms even though they are small ,but a larger room is... more

I stayed two nights at the Onyx, while attending two shows at the Boston Gardens. This hotel is ideally located for this activity, just down the street from the Gardens. The hotel is very stylish and friendly. The rooms are great, with everything one could need. I particularly liked the ipod dock, the bathrobe, and the very comfortable bed. The... more

OMG you fussy pre soccer Mom. No, Kimptons are not for kids. Hotels in downtown citys are not Disney for god sake. If you want a crib like at the one at home stay home or go to Grandmas house. A high chair for your your room, you are nuts! You are one of those people who stand on line... more

This is truly a hidden gem in Boston. Not a large chain hotel, but part of the elegant Kimpton hotel chain. Rooms are elegant and special, atmosphere is nice. This is a place that I can recoomedn to both business travellers and tourists. Definitely value for money. Also nice that the company is trying hard to be "green". more

First off, we got a great discount on staying at this hotel, so I'm writing my review basically based on paying full price, but I was also just disappointed with the stay, even staying at a reduced rate. We came in a group but specifically my family consists of me and my husband and our two and a half year... more

We decided to stay at the Onyx because we were going to a Celtics game for my birthday, and it seemed like a nice hotel that was within walking distance of the Banknorth Garden. The fact we received a reduced rate because we were going to a game was icing on the cake. We asked if we could check in early... more
