My husband and I met our daughter & her husband at The College Club of Boston for the weekend. We booked two en-suite rooms on the second floor--both furnished with vintage charm and attractively decorated. The location was perfect; we all arrived via public transportation & opted out of renting a car. We would stay there again.

I stayed here with my daughter for three nights, it was an awesome experience and I certainly will return next time I'm in Boston for leisure. You cannot beat the location! Wow, right around the corner from everything. Arlington metro station only a few minutes walk. Such a great and lovely part of town. The B&B was a stately home,... More

Perfect location close to conference center; rooms are extraordinary: spacious, old-style furniture, just beautiful; bed was comfortable; bathroom maybe has seen better days but fully functional; continental breakfast very good. The greatest asset: the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I hope to have the chance to return.

This hotel has an awesome location, and compared to many of the hotels in the same area, it was also very affordable. They do warn you about this on the website, but it is VERY loud when there are functions going on, as was the case during our stay. This also prevented us from taking advantage of the coffee and... This inn has always been booked when i have tried to stay before. Now I know why. Vassar room on top floor was spacious and nicely decorated. En suite bathroom was nicely appointed as well. Afternoon tea and breakfast were just right and wifi is fast. Staff leave you alone - they act more like a hotel than a B&B... More

Clean, comfortable and welcoming, this once upper society home ahs been tastefully converted to bed and breakfast style accommodation. Rooms are spacious, quiet and well maintained. Easy 5 minute walk to Boston Common, 10 minutes to the original Cheers Bar and the Heritage Walk. Short taxi ride from the bus depot, 30 minutes from the airport. Staff are pleasant and... More

The location can't be beat. We walked everywhere from here. It was fun to stay in an old building on a lovely boulevard. The Continental Breakfast is adequate but nothing to get excited about - hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, breads and jams. We stayed in the Vassar Room on the top floor facing Commonwealth Ave. It is spacious and filled with... More

Clean, very spacious and absolutely lovely. Located in a neighborhood and faces road separated by a walking path with lovely trees and right next to Boston Public Gardens. Close to subway. Beds were a bit firm for me, but totally acceptable.

Whenever returning to Boston I will try to stay here again. The college club offers an authentic turn-of-the-century experience of a stay in an academic surrounding. Manager Donald and staff are genuine friendly, breakfast simple but adequate. The location close to Boston common and the Charles river unbeatable. Easy public transfer from the airport.

Since I did not book our stay, I had no idea what to expect. Double that with this being my first East Coast visit, I was not prepared for the charm of the neighborhood, let alone this elegant property. From the moment we stepped into our room (Wellesley) instantly I felt like I walked into a history book. From the... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
