As tourists new to Boston,we feel lucky that we picked Boston Common. The small sign on the bldg was hard to find as the airport taxi dropped us off at corner of Trinity and Stuart streets. But once inside we found pleasant employees and very clean rooms, The option of two different train lines within two blocks gave us great... More

If you want to visit Boston's Back Bay and don't want to deplete your bank account, The Boston Common Hotel may be your spot..An old hotel (used to be John Hancock Conference Center), it is not updated and may be slated for demolition some year. Rooms are small and adequate. Continental breakfast + is included in the price. You can't... More

I stayed at this hotel for an event at the Hynes that I booked last minute and needed to so do on a budget. Very difficult entry (stairs). Very old dated room. Unpleasant smell. Really OLD awful bathroom with a very stained/marked tub. No wifi or internet in room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. No plugs accessible... More

Stayed here 3 nights and found this hotel to be just exactly what we needed. Convenient location, clean and tipsy with friendly, helpful staff. Decor a little tired. Good buffet breakfast included in the price and all good value for money.

I needed a room a week in advance, and I found this hotel to have the lowest price. It is conveniently located, walking distance to major transportation hubs. When I got there I was impressed by its architecture. However the room needs some remodeling, especially the bathroom, the bathtub was a bit rusted. If you're willing to compromise on quality... Negatives: Our room was dated and pretty run-down looking. Doors were missing on the t.v cabinet and the bathroom desperately in need of updating. The continental breakfast was weak with a few cereals, fake bagels and a bowl of apples. Wifi while free was weak. We were booked in for 3 days but left early to stay for a better... More

Positives: location, location, location. You are a block from Trinity Church and Prudential Tower. Your T stops are close- green or orange. The included breakfast proved fine: muffins, bagels, juice, coffee, etc. Negatives: dust, stained carpet, drain hanging out of the tub, no fridge, even some bugs coming out of the old drain. The wireless signal is too weak to... More

I would actually rate the property itself as a 3-3.5 star property but gave it 4 stars for value, location, & cleanliness. This is the second time I've stayed here while in town for business. It's an old hotel but the rooms are clean and the location is convenient for dining, etc. Did not try the continental breakfast or use... More

I think it's very dependant on your expectations as to if you will like a hotel. I booked a junior suites at the hotel and then went on to read a few bad reviews and got a little worried. However I'm of the mindset that I'm on holiday to see the sites and not stay in the hotel. So as... More
