Website pictures are deceiving- I guess I expected more for what I paid. That being said, this hotel was considerably cheaper than most other Back Bay options. In terms of amenities, you get what you pay for. The room was a smallish fine size- the bathroom was a relic of the 70s complete with molding grout. Wifi didn't work unless... More

Everything about our stay here was easy, convenient, and pleasant. An older hotel with smallish rooms, but very clean, quiet, and comfortable. We like hotels like this: the age gives it a little more character and you can tell it is maintained very well. Location is, as the name implies, a few blocks from Boston Common in Back Bay.Easy to... More

Given the prices for Boston hotels this was a decent, clean, adequate place to stay at a much better price than many downtown hotels. Nothing negative to say other than the rooms could use some updating. The Continental Breakfast was pleasant and served on a nice sheltered glass patio. Service was great. I needed a roll-away for one night and... More

People were great. Location was great. Room was really old, needed paint, old carpet, old bathroom. It was a good value, but pretty meager amenities. If you are wanting to spend your money on meals, tours, and other activities in Boston and not spend much time in your room, this may be a good choice.

On a positive note, the hotel is in a great, convenient location and the room is clean. No frills to me means little on no amenities, which is reflected in the price paid and is no problem if that's what you are looking for. However, the rooms are extremely outdated, carpet is frayed and stained, so is the furniture. Furniture... More

I stay in Boston frequently and this was my first stay at the BCH. I was in town for a Red Sox game and was looking for a hotel somewhere on the Subway line at a "reasonable" price. This usually means I would be staying quite a way from downtown and still paying $200 plus. So I was surprised when... More

Breakfast is very poor, low quality of the food and beverage; besides the place it's too little and the seats are not enough! Television is an old Philips model. The bed it is queen size and the mattress is no good! Wi-fi doesn't works well in the room

This hotel is very well located. It could be a lovely hotel and it gives the impression that it once was a good hotel but the owners must have lost interest in it. It needs a total re decoration. Wifi needs to be available in all rooms not just the public areas, that is expected in this day and age. The... More

Room was very old fashioned, let's say, with an ancient tv set, a bathtub with patches and most of the furniture dating back quite a few decades. Breakfast was quite disappointing - no yogurt and very few other things to eat/drink. Location is good, no doubt in that, but that's not enough.
