This hotel is located right around the corner from The BackBay Railroad station - servicing the Orange line and Amtrak. Couldn't be more convenient. The room was a nice size - we had a Queen size bed and a small sofa. Bathroom was spacious. It is an older hotel - most of the fixtures are dated. The plus is that... more

My sister and I stayed at the John Hancock Hotel and Conference Center. We picked this hotel for its price and location. Location is very good. Only a few steps from the Backbay T-station stop. It is within walking distance of Boston Common, the Prudential Center and the original Cheers Bar. But for the Sam Adams Brewery plan on a... more

Everyone at the hotel was pleasant and helpful. The location is great and close to great places to eat and shop. The free breakfast was very good and was in a nice setting. The room was average but there were no problems and nothing at all to complain about. We are going back next month for another stay because we... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in late August. Choose the property because the price was right on Expedia and the location was very good. Group of 4 adults, no car rental. This property is a one block walk to the Orange Line of the subway and the Orange Line will get you anywhere you need to go in the city... more

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The three nights we were there were quiet and all the staff we came in contact with were nice and helpful. Though it was not the largest hotel room I've ever been in, it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small, but it was always clean and stocked. The only downside... more

Got a great deal ($76 a night on Hotwire), ideal downtown location and was able to walk to the major downtown areas of interest quite easily. Most of the front desk staff was quite nice, though I seemed to be distracting the one young lady from her Blackberry when I checked in, which is never a good first impression. Room... more

We booked on hotels.com for $86 a night! It was right in the Back Bay section of Boston- around the block from the T, and just a couple stops to Downtown Crossing and the seaport. It was clean, quiet, the staff was really friendly and helpful, and a free continental breakfast every morning (granted the rolls were a little stale... more

I was in Boston for 5 days to attend a conference at the Omni Parker but I didn't make a reservation in time to get a "conference discount." So I ended up at John Hancock Hotel and I'm glad I stayed there. 1) The hotel is only a block from Back Bay "T" station (orange line). 2) It's safe. I... more

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews but I was looking for a cheap deal and not a five star hotel as I did not plan to spend all day there. Yes, it is a dated hotel, the walls could stand some new paint and the furnishings are so-so, but who really cares at these prices? It is... more
