There is nothing really great to say about this place...Besides the fact that it's a dump..for 25 bucks a night per person you can stay in a decent hotel room. I stayed at this place twice..each time when I came home..I was sick. This place should be condemned more

Although Hostelbookers said there was no curfew and a 24hr reception, I was very rudely told to go away (as in: The manager didn't even come down the stairs, he just kept shouting: Go Away!!) Besides, it is very hard to find; there is no sign whatsoever. (IF you still decide to go (I wouldn't recommend it), look for some... more

Greeted by a useless rude staff member with what looked like junkies hanging out in the lobby. Finally managed to get our luggage up to the room only to discover no locks on the door. With lock out at 2am that left way to much time for people to be coming in and out of our room. Didn't even look... more

Personally I wasnt a big fan of this place. We get there, managed to get our luggage up the narrow staircase. Greated by a very un friendly guy on the desk - very unhelpful, very long que to check in as he didnt know what he was doing. Mixed up our booking despite ringing the night before to confirm. Stayed... more

The bathrooms were actually shocking, I seriously don't know how they get away with it. The 2 male toilet cubiles (for the entire hostel) had huge gaps either side of the doors so in no way private. The showers were just behind curtains off the bathroom. I'm very easy going when it comes to hostels, nothing much bugs me, they... more

If you'd like to experience the worst Boston has to offer, stay at this hostel. Accessing the hostel on the third floor isn't easy with the stairwell in disrepair. Upon entering, you view a 'lounge' consisting of a torn couch, dirty pillows, one internet access computer, and a 10 inch television. Meeting new people can't be done in such an... more

For $25/night you should get better services and facilities than the Beantown can offer. The place is disgusting ill-kept (and I'm not picky about these things) with a strange brown fungus growing on the ceilings. There is one toilet, one sink and two showers for all the girls to share. The location is convenient, but having stayed in Boston for... more

We arrived at this hostel after finding out the place we booked a few doors down was closed down. We were greeted by a rather dopey character who claimed to have a record of our booking at the other place, but none of our 10% deposit (for 6 nights). We never got this money back, and all we did get... more

I recently stayed at the above hostels which are owned by the same people and only steps from each other. They are both terrible. Filthy. My boyfriend and I reserved a private room. When we got there, we found dirty napkins, towels, dishes everywhere. The curtains where torn off the walls and the beds were barely being held together. The... more

The Beantown Hostel is the dirtiest, most over priced hostel that I have ever stayed in. There was one working toilet for the women. There were no sheets or pillowcases for my first night. The toilet paper ran out and wasn't replaced until the day after. The mattresses are covered in plastic and are so loud when ever anyone moves.... more
