Frequently I travel to Boston for business and always try to stay at Herbst Haus. Kay exhibits a natural warmth and caring for her guests from the moment one steps into her lovely home. Although she no longer serves breakfast, coffee is available in the room and she will always keep me abreast of the current happenings in the city.... More

My wife and I spent Labor Day 2007 weekend in Boston (from Baton Rouge). Did a search for B&Bs and found this property. We couldn't have chosen a better place. It has been 6 years, but still think often of Kay's hospitality and great help in moving around Boston. Boston is a super place to visit. We had a great... More

Kay was a perfect and very helpful hostess. She no longer provides breakfast but directed us to two breakfast locations which were both excellent. House in a lovely quiet location in a fashionable area, and is beautifully furnished and clean. Bathroom a little small, but in keeping with many other bed and breakfast houses where we stayed in New England.... More

Even though I prepaid for three nights at Herbsthaus, I found other accommodations after the first night because the innkeeper, Kay, left a note on the door accusing me of smelling like smoke and asking me to "air" myself out before returning to her home again. I do not smoke, nor does anyone I was visiting smoke. The accusatory letter... More

My wife and I went to Boston this past weekend for a leisure trip. We are so happy we found Herbst Haus. Kay was an excellent host who really made us feel like we were at home. It is located on a beautiful street in the South End-2 blocks from the Back Bay T stop. There are a ton of... More

Kay was the perfect hostess, even arranging for us to leave our luggage in her storage area until check in since our flight arrived at the crack of dawn! Our rooms were wonderful, down to the flowers in the vase in each room. Breakfast was perfect for the warm weather, with fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, hard-boiled eggs and wonderful coffee... More

Kay is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable innkeeper. She greets you at the door like you are an old friend - by the time you leave, your feel like you are one. Her restaurant suggestions [the neighborhood has many to choose from] are spot-on. She loaned her pass to the Museum of Fine Arts for an afternoon of pleasure. The room... More

This is a wondeful small B&B situated in a convenient location for walking anywhere in Boston. The area consists of beautiful renovated Victorian houses. Kay was a good host, chatty, friendly and informative. Breakfast was good, No hot food but Kay explained that her license did not allow her to cook on the premises for guests. Nevertheless there was always... More

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful brownstone B&B while I attended a conference at the nearby Hynes convention center. The location is in a quiet residential area just a few easy blocks walk to the Back Bay. Terrific restauants are within 1 to 4 blocks. A great location all around. Kaye, the proprietor met us even given our... More

My boyfriend and I went back to Boston to visit his friends back in college and grad school. What a terrific experience! Having stayed in many B&B before, I can easily say this was one of our favorite places to stay. (well, this is my first time writing a review for any B&B...so that says a lot!) The brownstone house... More
