We've stayed at the Kimpton property in Cambridge MA - the hotel Marlow - and always love it, so when bad weather in Boston made it necessary to stay there after the theater, we chose Nine Zero down the street. Didn't disappoint. Great atmosphere, wonderful wine hour from 5-6pm, room was great with a nice view of the city. The... More

I planned an overnight trip for my wife to go to the theater. The hotel is ideally located opposite Boston Common. We were greeted at the door and our car and our bags were whisked away by valets and we went to registration. We were upgraded to an upper floor room with a view over Tremont St to the burial... If you're in love with architectural history --- AND with hotels which provide low-keyed elegance, comfort, and friendly services --- reserve space on the uppermost floors at Nine Zero. Ask for a west-facing room, on the 17th floor or higher, and you'll be rewarded with a unique vantage point which is at eye-level with the golden dome of the Massachusetts... More

The perfect hotel in the perfect location. Staying in a lovely corner room enjoying views of the city. Arnoldo the manager is very helpful making sure we were happy. We visited in Feb 2015 after spending sometime researching tripadvisor for a well located Boston hotel suggestion. A Kimpton Hotel that is very well located to Boston Common, which is literally a two-minute stroll from the front door of the hotel, and the theater. It is also an easy walk towards many other historic venues including one of the historic... More

This hotel was the perfect combination of boutique hotel and a chain. Extremely personable and staff. Room was so cute, comfy and most importantly clean. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would definitely stay here again. We drove up to Boston and got in late at night and didn't even have to pay for valet which was wonderful.... Nice boutique hotel in Beacon Hill area with smallish rooms. Our bathroom could use paint touchup but nothing major. It was adequate for a short stay but we moved after 3 nites because the mattress was uneven and very uncomfortable. Staff could not have been nicer and the concierge Tom, was incredibly informative and helpful. He suggested great places to... More

My wife and I made an impromptu decision Saturday morning to take a room at Nine Zero as we were going to a concert at the Orpheum Theater, just a block away. Turned out to be a great decision. This boutique hotel was everything we needed: excellent service, a nice room even though we took the lowest pricepoint. The room... More

Really beautiful and updated hotel located in Back Bay and is close to many good places to go out at night for food and drinks. The girl at the front desk was extremely nice and offered some great suggestions for places to go that evening. The room was very nice and offered a great view of the city. Would easily... More

Lovely rooms, and beautiful views. I loved the complimentary Wine and cider hour which happened every afternoon down in the lobby where the guests could enjoy what was on offer whilst relaxing. The staff were really friendly at all hours of the day and recommended some great local restaurants to visit - we went to Bostonia which was perfect. I... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
