This boutique hotel was a good find in central Boston. Small common areas, but spacious room, with high ceilings and large windows. Well-located with good access to all areas of central Boston, and close to public transit. Limited amenities, with a small, awkward gym, and small bar. I would recommend this hotel if you can get a good price.

I chose this hotel because of its exceptional location in the old, historic part of Boston. Indeed, right across the street is a building of major importance in the Revolution. The hotel is also very convenient to MTA public transportation. I expected a fine, deluxe room with two beds for my nephew and myself. The room was frightfully expensive, but... More

Location is great and staff friendly. Room was large and have what you needed. Breakfast was dreadful. Very limited quality of options and what was available was poor quality and costly. Would recommend eating at the other cafes in Quincy Market area or at café across the road. Bar closed after breakfast as breakfast was in the bar and did... More

Start with the positives. Location is great. Walkable to lots of things. Faneuil Hall, North End, Boston Commons, T etc. Room was very nicely appointed, water was hot, wifi was good and free, bed was comfortable. One minor inconvenience is that the was work in the street late into the night. It is noisier than alot of hotels especially sirens.... More

We wanted a conveniently located hotel and this fit the requirement. One block up from Faneuil Hall and walking distance to the North End. We were also able to walk to the Boston Commons in about 10 mins. The building was renovated to this hotel not long ago. It is a beautifully modern, very comfortable room. I checked the rates... Stayed for 3 nights for work. Room was good, well equipped and decent minibar choices. Requested an early checkin and was provided that at 8am, instead of 2pm. Excellent. Breakfast was average, just had a look and didn't look appealing and hence didn't go for it. Their restaurant is quite good, but quite pricey for the food they serve. So... More

I visited Boston on business and was very pleased with my stay at the Ames Hotel. The location is fantastic--across the street from the Old State House and a short walk to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. The room, while a little small, was very modern with a nice comfortable bed and roomy shower. My room overlooked the Old State House.... More

My husband and I stayed in Boston for a wedding 3 nights in a row and booked this hotel for its location. We found it close to everything. We were pleased and most of the amenities as my husband is handicap and he needs special care. They were accommodating

My husband and I stayed in Boston for four nights on vacation and booked the Ames because of its central location. We were literally across the street from the Old State House and could see it from our window. We could also see into some offices across the way so we made sure to keep our drapes pulled, but that's... More

Lots of traffic/truck noise outside; even more noise from the room next to me (it felt like they were in MY room due to thinness of walls and layout). Did not get a good night's sleep. Otherwise a decent hotel. Check-in staff very helpful. Great location.
