We had a nice room with good looking items. They have a lot of old items to decorate, and it looks nice. It was quite comfortable. We liked the free coffee in the morning, and the staff were always very nice. Our bathroom was super cramped, and the pipes vibrated loudly when someone else, possibly upstairs, used water. Overall, it... More

Let me begin by saying I have not stayed at the Beacon Street Guest House. But I have dealt with management. I called yesterday after seeing them listed on AirBnB.com (where their rooms were listed at $149). The quote they gave over the phone for the ONE remaining room this weekend was higher than on AirBnB, so I asked them... More

My partner booked this hotel while we were in the States. Apparently it was the cheapest apart from the hostel - well this is essentially a hostel, it's a good neighbourhood (no car parking that was an exta $40 in a public car park), It's relativly near the 'T' (underground). The room we had "Challenger"? was right at the top... More

As soon you book they will email you excuses ....they cannot do room service, not much parking space,no escaltor, check in upto 8PM and what else? Room is damped, dingy, noisy and above all dust every where inside. This guest house is surviving just for good location.

So dissapointed, sheets looked dirty & crumpled, no lift! No phone to call reception and no reception/support after 9pm! Requested clean sheets for queen bed given single told to make the bed ourselves as no houseker to do it! Tiny towels but shared bathroom making it embarrassing to shower in equally tiny bathroom! Looked nice on the surface! Went back... More

A converted mansion, 463 Beacon Street is situated in a charming brownstone in a charming historic neighborhood, filled with all sorts of period details. If you choose your room well, you'll be just fine. I had a 4th floor room with air conditioning, refrigerator, and a ridiculously spacious private bathroom (although the shower space itself was a bit cramped). I... More

Stayed two days end of Oct 2013 during world series (booked room 1 back in July 2013) - clean, close to the subway, cute shops nearby - coffee service was good, front desk manned by students were very friendly and helpful regarding the shops and surrounding area. Would stay again, however they need to upgrade linens (bed and bath).

This review relates to the fifth floor only, I have no experience of the other floors and hope they are a lot better but that is for the new visitors to discover. The hotel gets four stars for location and most of what is wrong with the hotel can be put right with a bit of attention and investment. Some... More

Gosh where to start, I chose this place because it was central and within the work-budget I had to operate. I had read the reviews of others online and weighed up the pros and cons. Not a place for solo female travelers, the Back Bay locational advantages were outweighed by significant disadvantages, walls of paper and flimsy locks on the... More
