My partner and I stayed for one night while celebrating my birthday in Boston. Our room was wonderful, the antique furnishings beautiful. Everything seemed in good repair and well looked after. The staff were very warm and courteous, and we almost felt like old friends coming for a visit as we were shown to our room. We were given the... More

We thoroughly enjoy the inn. Been there a couple of times The staff is more than accommodating. Beds are extremely comfortable. Slept like a baby. Breakfast in the morning is fresh and delivered. What a treat! Fireplaces make it romantic and warm. Everything is easy. And beacon hill is a delight for walking shopping and dining. This is likely to... More

If you have ever dreamed of being pampered and treated like a God or Goddess then you MUST stay at the Charles Street Inn. Luxury is at every corner: fresh flowers in the room, a spa tub with robe and slippers, your own well stocked refrigerator (complimentary goodies in the frig and out), a laptop to borrow (free wifi,of course)... Everything was absolutely perfect. Charles Street Inn is located in the best area of Boston, with tens of fabulous restaurants and shops in whatever direction you walk. It is a 2-min walk from the Red Line station which gets you to Harvard in 10 minutes. The hotel itself is exquisite. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and spotlessly clean. They look... More

It's so reassuring to see somebody say we're actually better than what they expected. We're always afraid we won't live up to expectations, and to know that we did that for you fills us all with overwhelming joy. I just wish you took more of those chocolates. The more you take, the less that remain here to taunt me. Those... More

What better place to stay in such historic city than in an equally historic inn?? None! The rooms are absolutely gorgeous - and spacious too. I love generosity and the inn has plenty; you can take Ghirardelli chocolates from a tray, magazines from another tray, AND you can take all the hardwood you need to build a warm fire at... More

It's great to have the historic nature of the Inn be appreciated! We ourselves are very proud of the inn's age and have tried our best to emulate the feeling of the time it was constructed. It's very soothing to know that we were successful. We probably should start putting up "go green" related notices, but we'll definitely take your... More

When in Boston, stay in the Beacon Hill area. The Charles Street Inn is a small boutique hotel with 9 rooms all different furnished - take a look at the hotels website for details. The rooms facing Charles Street has more light than those facing the back yard.. The street noise is minimal and the view out on Charles Street... More

I most certainly agree with you that the view is worth it. Most of the guests that stay in the Queen rooms rave about the view, especially those that stay in the upper floors. We thank you for the notice on the painting and the furnishings! We're begun touching up the paint after we received both your review and some... More

Not as good as it looks on the website but a good place to stay nonetheless. Quirky, interesting interior...a little spooky too! The best thing about it is the location - right in the heart of beautiful Beacon Hill. Breakfast was basic by American standards but quite adequate. Our room was a little noisy as it was on the ground... More

The staff was very accommodating, courteous, and went out of their way to make us feel special. Breakfast was brought to our room, which was very good. The room was very clean, and charming. This part of Boston (Beacon Hill) is so enchanting, and we could walk down either way and catch a trolley or the MTA. LOTS of great... More

Never failed on the 5 nights we spend there that the AC went out 3 times every day. I understand they have a new compressor but having one doesn't mean it's any cooler. The repairman may have been staying in the room across the way, not sure, they were there constantly working on it, I'll give them that. Oh and... More
