As soon as we walked in we were wowed. Not only were the public lounge rooms beautifully decorated for Christmas but there were little things like cookies and hot tea left out and various holiday sweets amongst the decorations. The rooms were beautifully decorated and cosy, the breakfast spoilt us for choice and the views from the hot tub were... More

I sometimes feel like bed and breakfasts were created because someone had a ton of leftover, floral, mismatching furniture and decided to make use of it by creating a somewhat charming b&b. However this is my first b&b that was so tastefully decorated that I couldn't believe what I had walked in to. Every piece of furniture has been given... More

I had occasion to stay over at the Inn on Monday of Thanksgiving week. When I arived i found that Christmas decorations had just been completed. The whole place had been transformed with winter and Christmas magic. I was given Room One. It was much like comming home, Snuggling into the lush bed I drifted off and slept like a... More

Why stay in a large brand name hotel that can be somewhat cookie cutter when it comes to approach when you can stay in this beautifully designed and meticulously maintained brownstone gem in Boston. There is such attention to detail in every room and in the common areas. Needless to say, this is my favorite place to stay whenever I... More

Hello Tom S! Thank you for your compliments and appreciation for our design work. The Luxury Suite is definitely one our favorite rooms as well, the large soaking tub is always so relaxing after a long day of work or exploring the city (even better with a glass of bubbly). The new hot tub is definitely an exciting addition. You... More

Found at random on the Internet, Clarendon House turned out to be a real gem. It's a beautifully restored Boston townhouse on 4 floors with original features and gorgeous maple floors. On 2 visits we stayed in 2 rooms, a Classic Suite and Luxury Apartment. Both were tastefully furnished with great bathrooms and comfortable beds. Free WiFi and cable TV,... More

My daughter (age 22) and myself just returned from a 5 day stay at the Clarendon Square Inn. It was a great experience all around. The Inn itself is about a 6 story brownstone located in the South End of Boston on a quiet street. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, the longest walk being about... More

This is our first trip to Boston-what a welcome! Loved the brownstone and stylish interiors-comfortable bed, charming quiet room and very central location. The breakfast was simple but delicious, fresh fruits and breads. The staff are very helpful and know all the local places of interest. I tried a couple of the recommended restaurants, within walking distance, all good, especially liked... More

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of our annual vacation. Our first time to Boston as well. We had the smaller room downstairs with no windows. This room was fine for us. Nicely decorated and roomy enough with a nice bathroom. It was great for sleeping because I like it as dark as possible. The... More

This inn is spectacular. Such a treat. Unbelievably luxurious, but not that expensive. The rooftop has wonderful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location - close to the action, but still tucked away on a quiet street. Very much so worth a visit.

We were fortunate to find a room on the same night as our visit to Boston, thanks to a cancellation. The evening check in instructions were extremely easy and prompt thanks to the proprietor, Gabriela. The lower floor room was large, impeccably furnished, spotlessly clean and had a charming private deck adorned with bamboo trees (in Boston!). The breakfast was... More

Staying in South End

Neighborhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
