It was a nice hotel for the price. The location is very good as long as you don't mind taking the T. If you are unlucky, could be noisy due to many ambulances heading to the big hospital located right in front of them.

This hotel was a great value. Incredibly close to the T station. Comfortable rooms, good restaurants near by. Very charming, rooms are not huge, but adequate. Great water pressure! I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for 4 days during my daughter's college graduation. Fantastic location, with the T, big CVS drugstore, and lots of restaurants close by. As it's directly on the Red Line subway, it's more convenient to Harvard or MIT than 'closer' options which are three or four times the price. Unlike others, John Jeffries' rate doesn't triple during graduation season.... More

I called at the last minute to secure a room in the midst of a snowstorm - which prevented my further progress home to NH. A fellow traveler from Boston suggested this lovely inn and was kind enough to see me to the door from Logan Airport. The Inn is just across the street from the Mass General Hospital T... More

We stayed here as a group in Sept. 2022 and loved it. It is an historic house, formerly a nurses' home for the Massachusetts Infirmary, close by. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It was sympathetically renovated in 1986 and what an excellent job they made of the renovation- it is utterly charming. The public rooms... More

John Jeffries house was a fabulous location, just at the end of Charles st, perfect for getting to the T and lots of facilities close by - restaurants, cleaners, chemist and Whole foods a short walk away. Although we didn't avail ourselves, there is an American continental breakfast included. Affordable rate, good wifi and cable tv. Very pretty area, close... More

Hi, we stayed here on our wedding weekend, and had about 20 rooms of guests. Everyone had a nice stay. Located across from Storrow Drive and the Esplanade, and Charles/MGH Red Line stop in Beacon Hill. Breakfast left a little to be desired, but overall a very nice stay. Cheapest hotel in Boston for the location.

I loved the simple, no frills elegance of this Inn. It definitely meets all needs, except perhaps for quiet. If your room , as mine was, is on the T (MGH stop is right outside almost) side of the building, there is noise. I am planning on staying in a suite on the garden side the next time I go.... More

Stayed here prior to ear surgery, and the start of the blizzard of 2014. Friendly staff, well appointed room. Near the T, but that also means there is quite a lot of rumbling "as the train comes rumbling through". Remember the MTA song? Anyway, be sure to ask for a room that doesn't face the T tracks if you want... More

My wife and I stayed at the John Jeffries House during the first week in December, for a weekend in Boston and we couldn't have picked a better location. It is located just across from the t-line, but it is within walking distance (about 3 short blocks) of downtown and Boston Common Park. The area is completely safe and the... More
