Breakfast in the morning is a continental breakfast with coffee, tea, bananas, pastry. Some of the rooms have a kitchen. For a better experience JJH should think about sending their guests to the restaurant around the corner from where they receive their room service for a full American breakfast experience. Otherwise, JJH is a very good and the location is... More

The hotel looks like an historical Bostonian large house. The attention is very friendly, almost family-like. The hotel is frugal, not many amenities, but will all the essentials, and at a very reasonable cost. The location is excellent. Is near the Massachusetts General Hospital, and many out-of-town people that come to the hospital for treatment choose to lodge there.

Stayed here twice with a family member having eye surgery. The staff are helpful and friendly. It is a small place and you soon get to know them. Rooms are clean and well equipped, though not luxurious. Common room is a comfortable gathering place for pastries, coffee and the morning paper. Everything is handicap accessible. Neighborhood has lots of good... More

After the previous accommodation on our trip was disappointing we were happy to find ourselves at John Jeffries House. We had a Junior Suite which was spacious with a kitchenette. A continental breakfast with limited choice of pastries, rolls coffee and tea. Located on the corner of Charles St it is well located for enjoying the numerous restaurants and cafes... More

I was traveling for medical reasons related to MGH. The location is directly across the street from the hospital. For this reason, its necessary to find reasonably priced accommodations. The John Jeffries fits the bill perfectly. While they don't have an online reservation system, it works. After reading other reviews, I was slightly skeptical, but pleasantly surprised by everything about... More

Stayed here three nights, late September. Great location – lots of restaurants, quaint shops and cobbled laneways nearby, the Charles/MGH T-station just across the street, Boston Public Garden and Common little more than five minutes away and all the historic and eating attractions of North End just a twenty minute walk away... But, not to mince words, the John Jeffries... More

We are 2 couples, had 2 of the small suites. Ours was on the first floor - and yet it was very quiet at night. It is not your Four Star, chocolate on the pillow sort of place, but it was less expensive than the Holiday Inn Express outside of town - and very nice! Simple continental breakfast in an... More

This is the perfect location for discovering the historic Beacon Hill/ Freedom Trail area of Boston. We were able to walk to most of the areas of interest that we had for our short stay. The room we had was actually a suite, with separated bedroom and sitting/ tv room. It is considered a B&B, with the breakfast being a... More

We spent the weekend here. We were attending Homecoming at the MGH and the continuing education program. We date ourselves by saying we remember when this facility was the nurses home for the Mass. Eye and Ear nurses since we lived as students on the other end of Charles St.. It is very good value for money in an expensive... More

Friendly service, clean large room, and seeing it is located in the Beacon Hill area, it was so easy to walk to everything we wanted to while we visited Boston. Would definitely stay there again. We were with friends and they were also very pleased with the accomodations. They offer a continental breakfast and you can get tea, coffee and... More
