I honestly never write reviews, but on this occasion I thought I should really take the time to do so. We had a terrible experience in this hotel. It's an insult to all other Bed and Breakfasts to even put it in that category. It's more like an apartment building. The only good thing was that it was across the... More

For our annual trip to Boston we will again be staying at John Jeffries House, very appreciate of its location, price and friendliness. I can walk to Fenway, take the T to the MFA and stroll around the Commons and Public Garden, and walking up and down the quaint streets of the neighborhood--Beacon Hill--is rewarding in itself. My favorite street... More

My wife and I enjoyed a getaway for a couple of nights. It is not a traditional bed and breakfast because of the local laws regarding serving food. Breakfast is a nice lite snack, which was sufficient for us. Loved the location. Boston is a walking city and this place is close enough to several places (Freedom Trail, great restaurants,... More

Do not be fooled by the low price, this is a great little hotel. If you are looking for a privately owned, well-situated, clean room in an historic building, this may be the place for you. I chose The John Jeffries House because I was looking for a hotel in or around Beacon Hill from which to explore the Freedom... More

Visit Boston regularly. Chose John Jeffries for the first time because we were looking for a convenient place to park a rental car, which we usually do not have. JJH is located in beautiful Beacon Hill and so easy to access. The rooms were comfortable and large. Would definitely chose JJH over the more costly hotels in Boston.

We stayed at the John Jeffires house over the 4th of July. Would be hard pressed to find a better spot for the money, I know, I spent time looking. Close to the Bostons Pops concert on the fourth, walking distance, and the fireworks display is a few steps away. When that's over you are close enough to the Freedom... More

Return visit found the same best bet in Boston: right across the street from Mass General and Mass Eye and Ear, a T stop in between the two which is surprisingly not noisy, on Charles Street, one of Boston's premier location, and while the accomodations are very clean and comfortable, their age makes this an average place as opposed to... The John Jeffries fits the bill perfectly. It is reasonable priced, it's location is fabulous, the rooms are very nice, some with kitchenettes and the area is convenient. The hotel is very clean and very much in line with old Boston charm. Having said that, this B&B comes without the typical attitude which can be associated with higher priced hotels.... More

This hotel is an absolute good deal. Comfortable and convenient, quiet, well located at the North end of Beacon Hill, easy to reach. However, just know that it is just in front of the exit of the metro station Charles MGH. The clerk will not be able to tell this simple information to you in case you go too far...... More
