sept 1 - just got back from the trip This place is definitely underrated. It is at a GREAT LOCATION. has such NICE STAFF and the room itself was BEAUTIFUL. It is rather old, but it gives off a Victorian feel. If this is not your style, you may consider looking somewhere else. The walls are thin so you may... More

Stayed here on a business trip. Room was spacious with small kitchenette which included a small stove and oven, frig and stocked with dishes, pans, silverware. The living room suite was nice and comfortable and the bedroom was big. Close to the boston public transportation rail system. Affordable and a simple breakfast

We stayed as the John Jeffries House three times this summer, while I was having my eyes treated by a doctor at Massechusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary across the street. We stayed in three different types of rooms - a senior suite, a junior suite, and a regular room. All were very nice. The hotel is a very good value... More

Situated at the corner of Charles and Chestnut Streets in the Beacon Hill neighborhood this delightful venue is close to everything. The T (and Mass General) are across the street. Check out the Liberty Hotel, a former jail turned swanky hotel, next to Mass General. The architecture is astounding with remnants of the old jail preserved for posterity. Boston Commons,... More

We stayed for 3 nights with our 18 year old daughter in a deluxe room. It was perfect. We all slept well, even our daughter on the pull out (she said it was fine). So easy to get to from the airport - and free. Having a separate room gave everyone a little bit of privacy and comfort. We walked... More

This hotel is a small hotel situated near hospital, close to Charles River. We were able to walk to Boston Common and then did part of the freedom trail. Bed was double but comfortable. We had separate sitting room with small table/chairs, refrigerator, two hot plates. Even though we could hear ambulances arriving at hospital it did not cause any... More

This was an absolutely fine introduction to Boston (my first time there). The staff were pleasant enough and once you had checked in pretty much left you to it (which is a good thing in my book). The location was great, right beside the Charles stop, but most of the touristy places are within walking distance. The only thing I... More

A friend told us about this historic B&B but I did not realize the perfect location. We were able to walk the Beacon Hill sites, walk to the Commons and the Freedom Trail sites, walk to Cheers, board our Old Town Trolley 2 day tour just up the street, and cross the street for access to the Esplanade. The T... More

This was a return trip and John Jeffries is the best place for me to stay in Boston. Reasonable (for Boston) and super convenient, right across from the T and near shops and restaurants. The staff was helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed being able to gather in the inviting common area.
