We were VERY happy with our stay at the John Jeffries House and found it to have many more positives than negatives. For Boston, the price was very reasonable (if my frugal husband is happy with the final bill, then I know I've got a winner), the location excellent (across the street from the Charles/MGH T stop and an easy,... After having searched for accommodation in Boston it was apparent that this was not going to come cheap! So I started looking at B&Bs and this one caught my eye. The Tripadvisor reviews looked encouraging so I booked. Stayed there for 4 nights. It was very good value for the price and the location is fantastic. Walk to the Boston... More

Stayed here for college graduation--John Jeffries was much cheaper than other hotels in the area. We had a junior suite--king-sized bed (comfortable), kitchenette, living room with fold-out single bed (not so comfortable). The good: Price. Location is primo. Red Line T stop is right there, you're a 10 minute walk from the blue line (easy access to Logan airport), Boston... More

This small hotel is wonderfully located between the Charles River Esplanade and the Boston Public Garden and Common, an ideal location for walking and shopping on Charles Street or downtown on Boylston Street. This is a budget property, our bed a double size, not queensize, an adequate bathroom with tub, and small kitchen- sitting area. In the comfortable and well... More

We stayed in a deluxe suite for 2 nights. The bathroom and living area was spacious with a small kitchenette. However, the bedroom was comparatively very tiny and could barely accommodate a queen bed and a small cabinet. TV was in the living room so one could not watch TV in bed. The staff we met were neither friendly nor... More

Stayed at John Jeffries House with my daughter for three nights on a short get away holiday. Easy walk to most sights and right across the street from subway line and Charles Street. Our suite was large and had a full kitchenette. Breakfast was a bit skimpy but we loved the fact that we could get fruit and coffee at... More

I honestly never write reviews, but on this occasion I thought I should really take the time to do so. We had a terrible experience in this hotel. It's an insult to all other Bed and Breakfasts to even put it in that category. It's more like an apartment building. The only good thing was that it was across the... More

For our annual trip to Boston we will again be staying at John Jeffries House, very appreciate of its location, price and friendliness. I can walk to Fenway, take the T to the MFA and stroll around the Commons and Public Garden, and walking up and down the quaint streets of the neighborhood--Beacon Hill--is rewarding in itself. My favorite street... More

My wife and I enjoyed a getaway for a couple of nights. It is not a traditional bed and breakfast because of the local laws regarding serving food. Breakfast is a nice lite snack, which was sufficient for us. Loved the location. Boston is a walking city and this place is close enough to several places (Freedom Trail, great restaurants,... More

Do not be fooled by the low price, this is a great little hotel. If you are looking for a privately owned, well-situated, clean room in an historic building, this may be the place for you. I chose The John Jeffries House because I was looking for a hotel in or around Beacon Hill from which to explore the Freedom... More
