It was great to find fresh fruit in the lobby. They had a great supply of bananas and apples. I was also very happy to find a floor fan in the room, something I've never seen in a hotel before. I use one at home every night to block out outside noise. Since the hotel was right across the street... More

We fly from the west coast to Boston twice annually, if not more, for medical follow ups at Mass General Hospital. We ususally stay at the ultra-nice 4 star Liberty Hotel as they have a great Mass Genl rate, but this time it was filled and we booked literally across the traffic circle at this place. Location is superb, if... More

This is my second review of this hotel. We stayed here again recently, and I have to comment on the front desk staff. They did not look us in the eye, greet us, or even stand up behind the desk to check us in. There were 3 different people at the desk during our stay, and not one even attempted... More

Recently stayed one night for a medical appointment at Mass Eye and Ear. Great location to all the hospitals and nice connection to restaurants, Boston Commons and boutique shopping in Charles Street. Hotel was clean, older in nature but that is Boston charm. A bit noisy as it is on the intersection but you don't keep the windows open. Nice... More

If only the John Jefferies House was half as nice as the website looked. Small space probably required them to use 3/4 double mattresses, and uncomfortable at that. The TV was in a small sitting area (not the bedroom) with only an uncomfortable love seat to squeeze in to. I've never so regretted returning to my hotel room after a... More

My family booked several rooms to attend our daughter's graduation. The hotel is in a fantastic location - across the street from the T, walking distance from Boston Commons, great restaurants and a short walk over the bridge to give you the BEST VIEW of Boston, especially at night. The breakfast was average - lots of carbs (pastries and OJ),... More

The location is perfect, right in Beacon Hill and great value too. If you take a train to Boston it is very easy to get here, the T station is right across the street. The Hospital is within a walking distant. Everything is within the vicinity of this hotel. There is a small grocery store close by, the price is... More

Beds are hard. Our room was fine. Jr Suite w kitchenette. I wouldnt stay in smaller as I saw a regular room and it was tiny. No AC or at least not on yet. The road noise died out by 10 pm and we slept w windows open. Service was good. Coffee always.

At the foot of Beacon Hill, across the street from a Red Line stop and the park along the Charles River, two blocks from a Whole Foods and a five-minute walk to several of Boston's best places to eat and buy cool stuff--it's amazing that this place is where it is and can still charge extraordinarily reasonable rates for quiet,... John Jeffries House is a very practical, comfortable and well located hotel to stay in Boston, MA!! Having stayed there on 2 separate occasions while visiting Boston, I can only make very positive remarks about each aspect of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and efficient in acknowledging and resolving any requests/concerns(weather issues, etc.) that came up. The rooms were... More
